I've had this idea for a very long time but I thought it was stupid until now. When I'm playing a song that I'm trying to FC or AAA, I sometimes anticipate parts and end up messing up because that section of the song is coming up. I always wished there was a countdown timer showing you how much of the song is left so I wouldn't have to worry about messing up; I know what time measure the difficult part is in because I saw it in the timer.
What I'm proposing is an optional timer that can be placed somewhere within a player's view on the playfield and shows how much time is left within a song until the song ends. I know it can be done since text can be placed withing a stepfile (Skelly Bones for example) so a timer shouldn't be too hard. Also, many rhythm bases music games (ITG, Pop'n Music, etc.) all have a meter or timer showing how much of the song has passed or is left. I just want to know if this is a good idea or not.

I like the idea, it would help with the Destiny V2 token as well.

I think it is a good idea, or maybe an arrow count as well?
Like both ideas ![]()

i was actually thinking about this. but i thought it would get shut down because you can tell how far you are in the song by the steps at that point. but i like it.

you could just look at the R! song difficulty thread and found out how many notes are in the song to figure out how far you are in general.... thats fine enough for me at least

This is a custom title.

Personally, I'd like to know how much time people have spent playing ffr. With the number of games played and the lengths of the songs it's an easy calculation. You know: "Collectively, people have spent x years playing FFR." or something to that effect. More statistics are always good.
![]() I like the idea of a timer, too.

It's not really a necessity unless you've never played the song before. Playing a song over and over gets you used to the time and which different difficult spots are where, and so on.

well, seeing as how its helped me gauge multiple songs, i dont think ive wasted anytime.
The overall idea is fine. The tools we have can help simulate it, so I don't think this would go high on the priority list. Thats all im really tryin to say. and using multiple tabs usually makes it "waste" less time |

Uh do you guys know how boring it is to play boring, long ass stepfiles and not know how much time you have left? Call me crazy but I want to know how much time I have left so I can try my best to AAA it the first time, not the 10th time in a row because I've played it all day. >_>

Ok idea, although I'd rather have something that would just tell me when jacks are coming up, so I could hit them without having to reduce my screenshrink. Other than jacks, I pretty much feel ready for anything, and you can tell where you're on in a song from the music.

But I still have to memorize where all the jacks are that way, which isn't easy for me. I know where they all are on some songs like Runny, but it'd make things like GGC a lot easier for me if I knew when the jacks were coming somehow.
