Default Question regarding PS2 Memory Card technical difficulties

Got any suggestions on what could be wrong with my memory card when it won't read the data when it's plugged in?
It says "No Data"
I've tried other slots. Other mem cards work, tried turning it off and on, etc. We have a hunch that the problem could be that the contacts on the memory card have been misalligned, however there is no damage we can see without taking it apart.
Is it possible to take it apart or are there rivets or anything in the back end of the memory card that would hold it together?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sometimes it happens. It means you might have it plugged in wrong.

Also, in other cases, the data re-appears in like 5 months, randomly. Weird, huh?

do you have the official ps2 or something like megamemory or some other non sony endorsed product?

with the megamemory you need a cd for the ps2 to register the memory card as a memory card. If its a ps2 card, it might still be under warranty.

every game for it might not be a 'kiddie' game, but most of them are pretty wussyish. PS2 has GTA, XBox has Halo: Combat evolved. Sega Genesis had ( may you rest in piece Genesis, my old friend) Sonic the Hedgehog

you got a problem with Sonic: I'll track you down, and I'll kill you.

I'd rather play Sonic 2 then anything on GameCube, PS2, XBox, GBA/GBA SP, PC, any other system you could think of. yes, I'm that much of a Sonic fan. the music pwns, the graphics... um... pwn for 1990's, game saves to the cartridge instead of a memory card, fighting evil robots lead by an evil 'genius' as a blue hedgehog with a 2 tailed orange fox, and one of my favorite parts: extra stages where you get chaos emeralds...

those were the days

Just becasue a game is "wussy" doesn't make it bad. Some people don't want to play OMG I FUCKED YOUR MOM AND KILLED YOUR DOG WHILE DOING COCAINE OFF OF A HOOKER'S ASS all the time.

Fine, let me rephrase that:

The cube has nothing exclusive for it's system that is anything good, and all the good games for other systems you can play with much better controllers (with the exception of the Xbox controller F).

one reason i like xbox less.

see then in games like true crime u dont have to save anything on your game, so that way you can just pointlessly run around killing people.

also with a memory card u can take them over to friends houses

Cube has rights to RE: 4... That's good enough to me. Plus, Viewtiful Joe, PN103... They have a bunch of games targeted at the more mature audiences.

But who cares? I have the big 3. PS2, GC and XBox.

And did you know that Nintendo used to own www.xbxo.com? Cause people were spelling it wrong all the time.

Cube has rights to RE and Viewtiful Joe...it's 2 games (and btw, Resident Evil: Outbreak is coming out exclusively for PS2) and P.N.03 is fugging retarded, and a crappy game besides. Awful camera, lame grafix, and annoying controls...plus, I could argue that the actual concept is dumb. Maybe Nintendo should stop letting their company janitor throw out suggestions durning meetings:

"Hey, how bout a game where you dance to kill things?"

I love my genesis more than my XBox and my PS2, since that's what got me into video games. even though it's broken, I still love it.

and 32-bit graphics are SOOOOOOOOO much better than 128-bit graphics with 3-d capability... (yay for shittyness)

A game where you dance to kill things... Why, that sounds like Space Channel 5-2! Only on PS2... Go figure, what are the odds of that. And there are another three GC games coming out exclusivley for GC from Capcom. These are known as the "Capcom 5", and while PN.03 did suck, Viewtiful Joe was one of the Capcom 5.

Besides, I thought the arguement was not "did PN. 03 suck or not". I was giving out titles of games aimed at the older audiences.

And if you haven't played Viewtiful Joe, and think it is geared towards kids... It's a fuggin impossible game. But fun.

I don't think a game where you kill things by dancing can be considered an adult title, but that's just my reasoning.

And I agree, Space Channel is a dumb concept, but it is a better game than P.N.03, and it wouldn't be as bad if the Cube didn't have a track record of kiddy games (animal crossing, kirby's air ride, pokemon channel, anyone?)

Game Cube has Metroid Prime and I think Rogue Squadron is specific to it as well. those games blow 90% of PS2 games out of the water.

It happened to me.It must be an old memory card. Don't know why it don't work.

P.S. Gamecube=ok graphics, not many games,"made by nintendo" ; X-Box=fucking psyhco graphics, only like 3 good games though, cool little song storage thing ; PS2=greatest games, pretty good graphics its a battle between xbox and ps2,i like ps2,xbox's intense graphics annoys me somtimes.
