Default Charity is rewarding

So, yesterday morning I was coming into town after leaving Krissy at university, was just going to go to the library to kill time until work. I bumped into an old friend I hadn't seen in a few months, he'd been protesting around a few countries (he's an eco-warrior haha).

Anyway, he asked me if I wanted to help him go around do a little charity work. Apparently his dad has a gig in May and in between they will have a raffle with all proceeds going to charity. So we were to go around town asking stores if they wanted to donate anything to this raffle.

Now here's the killer. Store's will actually just give you things, no questions asked at times. You tell them the band, the location, what's happening, and they give you stuff, they won't even go and check it out. We ended up getting a guitar, a bag of about 20-30 CD's. Some household items (a lamp, a flower pot, etc), and a few other things.

It got me wondering what people would do for charity. If I had have wanted I could have gone to any of these places, got some things, then just taken them for myself.

I actually did take a couple of the CD's to listen to, but I'll be returning them before the raffle starts, they aren't bad.

So yeah, charity can be fun. People just give you stuff.

Yeah, I know. Living in a small town growing up, I was able to score some good stuff for charity drives I organized for the Red Cross and Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Charity is nothing out of the ordinary in towns like that, so many of the stores handed out goods and even sometimes money with no questions asked.

Yea, and you also get people's appreciation and praise. It just makes you feel good.

djshox looks like house. However I agree on the point he made, the only reward is the feeling itself.

Yeah, but I'm heartless so that shouldn't be a factor.

No, not really, it was fun doing it. I was just surprised at how easily we could get stuff, how easily exploitable it all could be.

Not that I would.
