I'd still live within my means and utilize the rule of thirds - save a third, spend a third, invest a third. Charity would be an investment, so some portion of the money would be donated. Of course it would mean that I would never work again and through smart investing, people would be working for me and making me even more money. Mwahahahaha!

If you saved 33 million dollars...even at a rediculously low interest rate (2% for sake of arguement) You would still be making over half a million a year lol. The concept behind this question I have sadly thought of before lol. I'd probably give a lot to my direct family (brother, sister, parents) Put myself and girlfriend through college. Buy a house on a lake and just enjoy the rest of life.
PS. And yes of course give some to charity also.

I'd give ten grand. The rest I'd spend on whatever the hell I wanted. My first purchase would be a new guitar.

If you put it in a CD for at least five years, you'd come away with a 5-7% interest rate. You just have to be smart because even $100 million can run out eventually. I still have another good 60 years in me so I'd make that money last.

i would like to donate 70%, but there isn't that kind of option, donations should be more generous, because who ever they go to needs the money a WHOLE lot more than we do... with the rest, i'll use it to get some of the stuff i want, 30% can probably last me a long time, no use in keeping all 100%, by donating 70%, i am actually doing something better than just keeping it...
EDIT: This idea came from my parents. If I had that much money, I'd donate 99% Last edited by TheCookieMonster; 09-27-2008 at 04:33 PM.. |

Convert it to yen, because having 11,687,527,801.92 yen sounds better than .1 billion dollars

I would keep all of it. Put it in a bank account. Even if I were to get only 0.1% interest I could still give $100,000 to charity... a month! Of course I would give them less and spend, spend, spend... Interest at least.
Don't buy just one! Buy ten! Or get someone to make one to your specs! |
