Jackhammers used to be my biggest weakness, but now I'm better even at them than I am at timing. I'm getting 10x as many perfects as I'd like to be getting on everything.
A bunch of these are sightreads. Unfortunately, some of them aren't, and I even had to try 5-10 times to get a few of these scores. These scores are all awful. Beat this MA a few times, but only AAA'd one time. Could probably get a 50p AAA if I tried for a while, but even that'd be pretty lousy MA. ![]() First AAA of this. Wouldn't mind losing 80 of the perfects, though. ![]() First AAA of this, too. Pretty good for me. Doubt if I could beat it if I tried again. ![]() Played about 5 times. Lousy score. Might be able to AAA with < 60p, but it'd take a while. ![]() First try. Seemed OK for me. The file's so easy, I should be able to AAAA it, but that's not likely ever to happen. ![]() Tough FC because of the jackhammers. Could probably AAA. ![]() rofl ![]() Tough to AAA. Could probably get it with < 60p. ![]() This file is hard. ![]() Could probably AAA. Messed up at a fairly easy, but slightly awkward part and got 3 greats. ![]() First try. ![]() Could probably AAA this too, but MA is still lousy. ![]() I think I barely AA'd this last time I played it. First try today. Might be able to AAA though. ![]() Pretty good for me. Ought to AAA though. ![]() Sightread. ![]() Tried twice, I think. PA was alright. ![]() Possibly the most fun file ever. Wish I could do jackhammers. I got 10 greats before this, but with about 3x the CB's. ![]() Might be able to AAA, but it's got some tough parts. ![]() Oops. Good MA for me though. Previous best was 23p. ![]() Second or third try. ![]() I was too busy worrying about the jackhammer to bother AAA'ing. ![]() How do people practice MA? Just play the same easy songs over and over and try to SDP? Play a bunch of different easy songs and try to AAA? Increase judge? Play files which are tough to AAA, but not really hard? |

To practice MA you play slower songs I believe.

Not really.
Will do. Would installing ridiculous and/or increasing the judge be likely to help, or would it just mess me up even more? Also, I improved on a few of those scores since I posted. |

Or maybe j6 and 1.2x rate.
![]() Anyway, I guess I'll just keep doing what I did yesterday, and hope I see some improvement eventually. For me, speed is way easier to improve than timing. Maybe it's a partly a keyboard issue, but I doubt it. |

Haha, my timing improved when I started not being afraid to hit my keyboard hard. Like, I got a 4p Ageha today, and it's cuz I was really feeling the rhythm. Dunno if it helped anyone else.

So when you say RA/MA are you referring to the ratio of two ratios? (200:1 RA /100:1 MA) "2" for example. Or when you say RA/MA, are you referring to a quantified RA? Edit: rockerforlife1 read the picture dictionary in FFR general

He means that he gets roughly the same quantity of marvelouses as I do perfects, and of perfects as I do greats.
EDIT: Some scores I got today. Best AAA even if I've beaten the MA. ![]() Could definitely AAA this, but I don't want to spend 25 minutes, or however long the song is, just to get a blackflag or something. Greats came at easy parts. ![]() I'm still so bad at jackhammers that the minijacks in this song make it hard for me to AAA. ![]() Jackhammer song. ![]() Last edited by Pobeli; 03-18-2007 at 10:20 PM.. |
