Clear out the announcements/stickies.
The #1 rule of forum stickies is: The more stickies there are, the less likely users are to pay attention to the stickies. It's just way too overwhelming, especially when most of them are very lengthy threads.
Also, for best results, most future stickies should be locked immediately after post. That way the user feels like he only has to read one post instead of 50+ in some cases. The following stickies are no longer necessary. Announcements: Tournaments and Leagues - no one really capitalized on this idea, I think it can be dropped. The Miss System: Part 3 - the miss system has been radically changed since this was posted. The topic is no longer informative. You want to know about Remix? *UPDATE* - a lot of questions with no answers. Favorite Song Poll - I'm not bashing the topic, I'm bashing its position as an "announcement". Does a 12 page post about irrelevant opinions really need to be at the top of the forum? In addition, the topic references a poll that's almost 9 months old. Welcome to the new forum! - over a year old, forum has been changed since then Stickies: The Moderator Thread - no one really capitalized on this idea, we haven't gotten new moderators since then, and the list of potential mods is very limited: why does it need to be stickied? How many credits do you have? - This is such an extemporaneous thing, peoples' credits change every day. Is it really that important to be stickied? LIVE SHOW! - this broadcast happened in August....I don't think we need this topic anymore Original Forum Members - this thread has run its course, last post was November 18. How to use IRC - This was relevent only when FFR Chat was IRC-based, now it's not. Forum Update - this has run its course. No one really needs to read this anymore, it's no longer important information. I recommend that all of the above topics be un-stickied, so they can drop in peace. |

I would get all the permission I would need for each topic and get them cleaned up. Narrowing to a few would be key.

They're right, there's way too many stickies on there. Besides being useless, they also clog up the FFR General forum page.
Also, have you noticed that whenever a topic is stickied to keep it from falling to the bottom, immediately after the thread dies? |

Edit it now, then. You don't need mod powers to edit your own post.
And if you don't know that then you definitely shouldn't be a mod! (j/k) |

It would be the same as only putting out half the fire and leaving the rest, it doesn't stop the main problem. That's considering you can put out the fire. |

Okay I was joking at first but your apathy toward editing an awful, awful post of yours makes me understand that you probably wouldn't be the best mod.

i agree with the original subject of this threqad to thin out the announcements and stickies.
You shouldnt scroll 3/4 opf a page to get to the new threads. |

Okay normally I wouldn't force a topic to stay alive like this, but this needs to be adressed by a moderator. This is ridiculous.
