how does everyone thats good complete songs such at Chrono Trigger and stuff, you guys use the arrow keys with 1 hand or do you use 2 hands at the same time or what? is there a certain way you play the game that makes it easier than it seems? i sit here with one hand and theres no way i can imagine anyone reacting and pressing all those keys at once and perfecting the whole song. can someone plz help me out, thanks.

No what they really do is get four people with no lives and have nothing to do and just sit there and practice all day long. They memorize the song and each take one arrow that way you can react very easliy

It's just practice, as many people will soon tell you.
Some people use one hand, some people use two.
Basically, just play the easy songs, and work your way up.
As for being impossible for you to move your fingers that fast, it is possible, with time. Think of some guitar players that play, say, progressive metal (just out of my head) or something. Some solos are insanely fast, and they are just using their hands.
In other words, it is possible to move fingers extremely fast, but it takes practice.

I think that guitar player analogy wasn't very good at all, but I hope you understand my intention.

One or two hands, it doesn't matter, some of the best players play one handed, while others play two. Some people play with two fingers, some three, some four. I personally play two handed, three fingers for accuracy, four for difficulty.

Other then that, practice, a lot, and when you think that you can't improve any more, practice, then pracitce more. Oh, and stepmania helps, it's like FFR, but there are a LOT more songs (probably around 75,000, it's limitless really), and it has the potential to be more on beat. Get it at http://www.stepmania.com and levels for it at http://www.bemanistyle.com . It can be hard to use if you don't know much with computers, I have personally failed instructing 5 people because they didn't understand it. There are guides in the stepfile/stepmania stickies and forums.

It's been done, it doesn't work. Plus getting four skilled in the same 50 mile radius is quite hard in itself.

i understand but, to move your hands that fast and hit all those doubles and what not, i dont understand how it is done, i can hit a fast series of single arrows coming down but all these singles mixed with doubles end up in there and stuff. i still dont understand how someone can think and react by moving fingers and perfecting songs such as flight of the bumbleebee and songs that are mad crazy fast and people seem to perfect them somehow.

Yeah, when I first started, it took me 6 tries to beat Terror from beyond, and I was simply amazed that anyone could move their fingers faster then that. Slowly, I practiced and got better, and now I can easily beat any song on the site one or two handed (Except one handed revo. Damn that song, I can do fine 2 though).

Just consider practice as finger work outs =p. You can't move them that fast now, but soon, after some work, you will.

those newbie songs are easy, like terror from beyond, final fantasy has some difficult areas and megaman is possible but stuff like flight of the bumblebee...what the hell?! thats like evil hand movements

its not about how fast you can hit the arrows, anyone can hit the keys fairly fast. Its the matter of knowing whats coming up next to hit them.

i can perfect songs such as burnout and contradistinction, but songs like uber rave seem entirely impossible, its like someone throwing 100 oranges at you and you have to learn to catch them all at once somehow. sheesh

The cathcing oranges thing is simply interpreting the arrows. Once you can see what patterns are comming up, where to move your hands and when, speed is no longer a facter really. Unless it's like.. blur, lol.

I have my bad days. But on my good days, when I play good, I find that I do this weird thing:
My eyes are slightly dazed and almost unfocused while I stare at the area where the arrows are about to pass the big main arrows that are lined up at the top. I find that i merely react on impulse and I can read the arrows a hell of a lot better too.

Yeah. You know how you look at magic eye things? You try and like... look through the screen, not focus on it. I find doing that greatly increases how I do on a song. (For example, on something like the run on uber, I can get 50 marvs in a row while focusing I'd get like 20, then get 3 goods and perfect the rest.) And for where I look.

Wow, you two shoulda just went to Chat. I'm a Noob at FFR,but I use two hands both pointer fingers. It works pretty well,I can't do the triples (keyboard won't do it).I can't do flight of the bumblebee. I can't see anyone doing that perfect (Screenshot anyone?).For that song I just keep pressing the doubles really really fast, but still don't get past half the song. I'm not very good,I never got more than 12 credits for a song..but practice makes perfect.P.S.-Why did you reply to yourself?

You're right, just a regular idiot. There's a n00b forum for a reason. You're safe there. I can't flame you there. But anywhere else is fair game. Watch your step, and don't ask stupid questions like this.

I like the magic Eye things, they don't have enough books though.

Well, Anti, it looks to me like you're the only one he's offendin'. Plus, this is higher level thinkin' complete with diagrams on how to play, so piss of, please.
