Default Vista

I just got it on my new laptop.

It's an Acer AMD Turion 2.0 GHz processor, 15.4in scren 256MB ATI Radion integrated graphics, 80GB HDD, 1GB of RAM (I'm adding another 512 to bring it to 1.5)

Vista looks cool.

Not much better than XP other than that though.

I'll be installing this whenever I get a lot of free time, and remember to do it. I'm pretty sure that I'm getting it for free through my college.

Toms hardware vista review.
Btw Vista doesn't support open gl. Huge gap between xp and vista here. in XP's favor.
And xp beats vista in everything else as well.

Installed Vista on a school computer that is at least 8 years old by now.

It was pretty awesome. =]

Same here. Free to download the Business version through my school.

I might download it and just hold off on installing it or do a dual boot. We'll see.

What's so great about Vista? Who wants their OS to be graphics intensive? Who wants their Windows to look like it has Mac influences?

I am perfectly content with XP and I seriously doubt I will make a switch any time soon, and I don't see why anyone would. If you want a fancy looking OS, you can get a skin for XP, or many of the fancy things of Vista are already used in OSX.

My laptop broke, and I just decided to hell with it.

Instead of paying for a new screen, just get a new comp.

Vista is okay.

Good thing all I use is freeware.

And I just figured out how to turn off Vista's tracking.

I'll probably install it once all the bugs are worked out. I still haven't received my upgrade copy from Dell =/

Oh, and the piracy thing seems to have nothing to do with third-party software, only Vista itself. I don't know how anybody could prove or disprove if third-party software is pirated. If I'm wrong, provide proof. 90% of people have some form of pirated software on their computer. Really, did anybody here pay for Photoshop?

Posted that in another thread but eh.

Also, I doubt I'll upgrade to Vista. I wasn't able to find a torrent for the 64-bit version, and I don't wanna use the 32-bit version since I have a 64-bit processor.

I won't buy Vista exept if it comes with a new computer.
A 3D desktop/windows, and transparent windows doesn't worth $300.

We had a discussion about that with my friend today. We were 4 guy, and only 1 will buy Vista... but he'll buy only only because it's made by Microsoft, not because it's good.
