I usually look at the top of the screen but I was wondering if it was easier to just follow the arrows??

It depends on the difficulty of the song. If it's difficult, you'd be better off looking closer to the middle. For easy songs, you'd be fine looking at the top. I think it also depends on how well you can read arrows.

I stare blankly at the screen and magically hit all of the arrows with near perfect accuracy.
That wasn't sarcasm either. |

well when you think about everyone differs in where they look, it just depends on what feels comfy, for example i play using 2 hand 3 finger. and since im right handed i can move faster than my left. but when i got my friend to try it he couldnt and he went back to his way wich wasnt all that bad. see its just on how you feel

Looking at the screen is not the way to go
Vision is for the weak you have to feel the arrows you must become one with the screen. Your eyes will not help you here.

You have to be in the game, man. I just sort of stare off blankly.

Lol. I like some of those answers. For some reason my accuracy depends on two things. The songs difficulty, and where I look on the screen. Which is pretty obvious.
For the harder songs it's easier to be accurate by looking higher. For the easier songs it's the same. However, if you look down I find it easier to obtain combo's, even if the accuracy isn't great, because if you look down you know what you are going to hit instead of reacting fast. But then again I think of other things than FFR when I play FFR. :l |

I screencut so there is only a limited space that I possibly can look at. It helps because everything doesn't seem too clutered. I usually just stare at the screen though.

I usually stare at the area right under the arrows so I know what the stream is going to be like instead of trying to figure it out at the last moment.

If it is an easy song I will follow the arrows individually until right before they hit the top.
Now for a more skillful level, I just stare blankly and vaguely at the screen and I have no clue how I hit the arrows. I stare more blankly at songs that I have played so many times that I could play them without looking, during the process of me playing the "memorized song" I will be thinking of things like, "what is for dinner?" I will then finish the song and say, "Did I do this part or, that part?" For the levels that I don't play often, I have to concentrate just a little. |

3/4 to the top as well. And on some rare occasions I will concentrate on the middle.
