that's pretty sick for you blazze. Damn, nice stuff. My best so far is 11. Most of my goods are actually at the eighth notes at the beginning. Hey, i saw one of your boo's at the beginning. I get one that same place every time i do it lol.

GAME FORMAT

17 Players.

Game Details & Basic Rules

- This is a Large, Open Theme Game (Based on a theme + rule modification.)
- Old School: Game starts on a night. First Night (Night 0) will be the “Prologue”.
- Unorthodox story, will have little to do with the game or the traditional “Mafia” situation at all, but stories are just an embellishment anyway, so no matter.
- This game utilizes an item system and credits system. Rings will be used as currency to purchase items from an in-game shop. In addition, players will be able to find items or be given items by other players.
- Nights and Days will both be ten (10) days long.
- This game utilizes a new split phase system. Actions will take place dynamically and the game will be updated multiple times during each phase. See “The Split Phase System”, below the role list, for detailed information.

RULES:

Taken from Vel-Rahn, with modifications.

General Gameplay and Etiquette:
1.You may not directly quote private Moderator-supplied information of any kind. Faking moderator-supplied information is also against the rules. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable.
2.There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role specifically allows it. Players with roles allowing communication may only communicate outside the thread during the Night phase.
3.If you have a role with a regular night action (Mafia killing, Amy’s roleblocking, etc.) your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline you will forfeit your actions.
4.Any player with a night action that does not wish to perform their action may instead submit a “No Action” PM to let the Mod know that you do not want to perform your expected action that Night phase.
5.(NOTE: I don’t really want to do this, but if everyone whines about it, I’ll have the mafia be unable to make a night kill on Night 0. That way *childish mocking tone* “everyone can play”. However, mafia will still be able to seer and stuff Night 0).
6.As a general rule you should aim for one post every 2-3 days, minimum, to keep the game moving.
7.Please send in your action PMs titled “Phase Number + Action”. E.g. “Night 1-2 Ring Transfer”, “Day 1-1 Item Use”, etc. If your PM does not follow or at least approximate this format it will likely be ignored.

Voting, Deadlines, and Player Death:

1.There is no instant lynch in this game. Lynch takes place at the end of the day. This may seem inconvenient, but it gives you more time to evaluate your actions, so I trust you will find it in you to use it wisely.
2.Please submit votes as the Player’s Name, bolded just like this. Votes will not be counted otherwise.
3.Please submit vote revocations as either Unvote: Player Name or just a simple Unvote. Unvotes are not necessary, but are always appreciated!
4.You may vote No Lynch to send the game to Night phase without a Lynch.
5.In the case of a tie vote, one of the tied candidates will be selected at random to be lynched
6.Once a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; the lynched player may not post during twilight but all other living players may continue to post.
7.Once you are killed, you may no longer post except for a brief “Bah!”-type post. That’s it.

Miscellaneous/Mechanics:

1.Teal/Cool Blue text is reserved for us Mods. No invisible/small text is allowed.
2.If you have an issue/problem with the game, please PM the Mod privately. Do not post issues/complaints in the game thread.
3.The Mod may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.
4.Questions/requests for the Mod may be posted in-thread. Please bold all requests so that I don’t miss them.
5.Prods of missing players will be issued upon request or after 3 days of no activity. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to replacement at any time without notice.
6.Rule violations will be dealt with according to their severity, up to and including a Modkill.
7.If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a two-day period please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.


The Roles

All players receive 50 rings each phase unless otherwise specified.
All players will appear as the color they are listed to detective powers unless otherwise specified.

Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik – The genius mad scientist who dreams of ruling the world. His prospects seem to be the best yet, splitting the world apart and harnessing the power of Dark Gaia to create his beloved Eggmanland at last. Will he finally achieve his ambitions? (Mafia Don [modified], must send in a PM first night saying “I wish to appear to detective powers as COLOR”. He may choose any color he wishes, BLUE, GREEN, CYAN, PINK…hell, if he puts “CHICKEN NUGGETS”, that’s what he’ll seer as. If he does not send a PM, he will seer as EGGMAN until I receive the required PM. Receives 150 rings each phase.)

EF-NS2010 – The best Fighter model to ever roll off the lines at Eggmanland. This special model has enhanced capabilities in all areas, including high-performance scanning sensors for accurate threat detection.
(Mafia Detective. Can scan one player a night for color. Receives 100 rings each phase.)

EF-SS1996 – A specialty model created for a special client, who returned it for reasons unknown. While a bit lacking in combat capability, its optic sensors have the highest resolving power of any Egg Fighter, and can discern objects and landmarks at incredible distances.
(Mafia Scavenger. Has a chance of finding items each day, and may distribute his findings by night.)

Egg Burst – Its tiny stature and cute movements belie its twisted nature: it would self-destruct without a second thought to take an enemy with it. Because of its small size, it can slip past enemy defenses.
(Suicide Bomber. Can vigi any player during any phase, even if they are guarded, at the cost of its own life. To be used wisely!)

Įsržhaēļ – A Nightmare that took a particular liking to Eggman and became his humble servant. No one’s really sure how to pronounce his name. (Regular Mafia Thug)

Sonic - The good doctor is at it again, so it's only natural that a certain blue hedgehog with a thing for speed arrives on the scene to stop him. Things have gotten a little hairy, though: Sonic's the same blue speedster by day, but by night, the energy released by Dark Gaia turns him into a "Werehog", a fanged, clawed, beefed up version of himself with fearsome strength and endurance. This slows him down a bit, but no matter: he's determined to put Eggman in his place, one way or another. (Just Sonic. He has no role title, that's how awesome he is. During the day he will seer BLUE, but will seer RED at night due to his dark form. His incredible endurance allows him to take 2 kill attempts before going down. Any mafia thug that attacks him during the night will have a 20% chance of eating werehog fist (note: this power will not activate for shield breaks), upped to 50% if they actually manage to take him down. Receives 150 rings each phase.)

Chip (NPC, not attackable, accompanies Sonic) - Sonic picked up this fairy like creature after the planet split apart, and now wants to help him regain his memory. Chip normally follows Sonic around, but is quick to shy away from danger. (After night two, Chip has a 50% chance of producing any of the following items and giving them to Sonic: Light Energy,Scan Protection, Shield.)

Tails - A young two-tailed fox who considers Sonic to be like an older brother. Outside of his autonomous flight capabilities and uncanny mastery of engineering and machinery (his creations have served as vital support to many of Sonic's missions), he has quite a sharp eye as well, and may pick up on certain details - sometimes precious - that others have missed. (Scavenger. Has a chance of finding items each day, and may distribute his findings by night. Also can use Indicator Crystals. Receives 150 rings each phase)

Amy Rose - A feisty pink hedgehog girl who is madly in love with Sonic, although he doesn't seem to like the idea (he thinks a girlfriend will slow him down.) Doesn't matter to her; she thinks she can keep up. She may seem cute and sweet, but get on her bad side and you'll get whomped with her Piko Piko hammer before you can say "Oops." Yeah, you'll need to rest for a while. (Roleblocker. Can attack one person at night. That person's night action and vote during the next day is nullified [power lasts 2 full phases.] This power does not show up on status reports, so the target won’t find out right away. Receives 100 rings each phase)

Shadow & Knuckles - Trapped on the same landmass and ambushed by Dark Gaia's creatures, these estranged allies of Sonic (well, kinda) held together and defeated them. Realizing that there is a powerful dark force behind this that threatens the world, they become an unlikely team and work separately to defeat Dark Gaia. (Masons. Receive 100 rings every phase.)

6 Civilians - Needless to say, the general population is kind of pissed off at the whole world-breaking apart thing. Anti-Eggman sentiment runs high, and they will do what they can to help. (Townies.)

Wentos - A traveling salesman who globetrots with his inanimate buddy Chao. Despite his lively, cheerful portrayal through the puppet, Wentos is very withdrawn and shy, and prefers to stay out of any conflict. (Salesman - Puts up a limited stock specialty item during the day. Seers PURPLE. Makes a 10% profit off of items)

Chao (NPC, not attackable, accompanies Wentos)- For a puppet, Chao sure is animated about his/Wentos' business. If business is good, he'll give a gift to someone he meets. His treat! (For every 150 rings Wentos earns through sales, Chao will give a random item to someone.)


The Split Phase System

When hosting a different version of this game on another site, I ran into a problem. I wanted people to be actively involved in the game, and have dynamically occurring events. However, it seemed to me then that the only option for that would be to take events (purchases, item uses, transfers) in real time, which would have been a horrible burden on me, and very ineffective for a forum game. If ever I ran into a problem in real-life, actions would pile up and it’d just be a mess (might be lessened with the mandatory co-mod here, but still.) I tried to handle every action between phases according to an action priority system (which made everything like a traditional night choice.) This didn’t work well either, as I was burdened with heaps of night actions and status reports to take care of between phases. This ended up creating elongated “twilight zones” between phases during which I was drafting and sending PM’s like a madman. I thought hard about finding an alternative to the two; a sort of compromise between real-time and automated action, and eventually I came up with this. It’s unusual, and players may have difficulty adapting at first, but it is a lot better for the game in my opinion. The action comes in readily digestible pieces for the host, and players can still complete whatever tasks they hope to complete fairly quickly.

Here’s the deal:

As mentioned before, Days and Nights are each 10 days long.
Each day and night will be split into 5 sub-phases, each 2 days long.
They will be named according to the format “phase number – subphase number.”
For example:
Day 1-1, Day 1-2, Day 1-3, Day 1-4, Day 1-5.

The game will be updated after every subphase, and any action such as item buying, item use, ring transfer, etc. taken during that time will take effect. If you bought an item, it will be delivered at the end of the subphase; if you vigi killed someone, and they had no protection, they will show up dead at the end of the subphase; and so forth. Certain powers, such as scavenging and mafia kills, will operate independently of this system and take place like normal nightchoices (for example, mafia kills and lynchings will still take place at the end of each phase.)

Mafia Killing**
Lynching**

** These are special cases. If a person is scheduled to be lynched, mafia killed, suicide bombed, or kamikaze’d by Sonic, they die before any combat takes place. E.g. if you try to vigi someone at the end of a phase, and they were already targeted by the Mafia, the Mafia kills them first and you waste your vigi.

Any time your status changes, from items given to you, rings transferred, or other means, you will be sent a status report detailing the changes (this is mandatory between days/nights, when everyone earns rings.) It will consist of any recent actions that were taken by you, or actions by other people that have affected you, and will keep track of your rings and item inventory.

When I was drafting this up, I thought “This is pretty complicated for a mafia game.” Still, I really wanted to create a game like this; a sort of “playground” where the two teams use anything at their disposal to outwit each other, and where even a vanilla townie or thug can be part of the action. I still stand by this.


The Shop

Welcome! At any time during the game you may purchase items from the shop, and they will be delivered at the end of the subphase you ordered them. There is an infinite supply of each item in the shop.

There are two types of items: Active and Passive. An Active item is used by the player on others, while a Passive item is equipped by the player.

Whenever you wish to buy an item, just send in a PM stating what items you want to buy, and how many of each.

Shield
- Cost: 275
- Type: Passive (equipped, affects user)
- Effect: Takes effect instantly. Foils one kill attempt.

Blade Ring
- Cost: 350
- Type: Active (target a player, affects target)
- Effect: One time use. Gives the power to vigi any player.

Lucky Charm
- Cost: 150
- Type: Passive (equipped, affects user)
- Effect: Gives the player an added chance of finding items. If used by a scavenger, increases the odds of finding a rare item. However, accumulating additional charms will provide few benefits. The effects will be detailed to the receiver.

Indicator Crystal
- Cost: 350
- Type: Active (target a player, affects target)
- Effect: Can only be used by Tails. He can channel its energy through a scanning apparatus, giving him one detective ability. This functions like a normal detective scan.

Repel Gem
- Cost: 200
- Type: Passive (equipped, affects user)
- Effect: Takes effect instantly and only lasts a full phase (five subphases) from when it is bought/found. Deters all powers except vigis and mafia kills. Roleblocks are nulled, seerings fail, etc.

Power Gem
- Cost: 250
- Type: Passive (equipped, affects user)
- Effect: Takes effect instantly and only lasts a full phase (five subphases) from when it is bought. Extends the life and/or enhances the effect of any one currently equipped item. The effects will be detailed to the receiver. Will not work on other Power Gems.

<<Wentos' Daily Special>>
- Every day, a special item will be available in a limited quantity from Wentos. If the poor boy should somehow be unable to continue business, this provision will be removed from the shop (functionally cardflipping him upon death.)

Notes
- All transactions are final.
- You may transfer rings to someone else. Simply PM me saying "I wish to give <<AMOUNT OF RINGS>> to <<PERSON>>." The person you send them to will not know it was from you.
- You may also buy items as a gift for someone else. When buying an item, simply state that it is “a gift for <<PERSON>>”, and it will be delivered to them. The person who receives it will know it was from you.
- All players can carry up to 4 items at a time.

Other Items

These are some other items that cannot be bought through the shop. However, most can be found and distributed by Scavengers or other means.

Lightning Shield
- Type: Passive (equipped, affects user)
- Takes effect instantly. Foils one kill attempt, and increases the user's ring earnings by 20%.

Fire Shield
- Type: Passive (equipped, affects user)
- Foils one kill attempt, and has a 50% chance of cardflipping anyone who broke the shield.

Water Shield
- Type: Passive (equipped, affects user)
- Foils one kill attempt, and reduces the effects of any powers used against its ward. The effects will be detailed to the receiver.

Light Energy
- Type: Active (target a player, affects target)
- Can only be used by Sonic. Gives him a vigi power that will only work on Mafia.

Scan Protection
- Type: Passive (equipped, affects user)
- Changes seer color to GREEN for 2 full phases (10 subphases).

Dark Shard
- Type: Active (target a player, affects target)
- Must be used within a full phase (five subphases) from when it is found. One time roleblock power (functions the same way as Amy's power.)

Thief's Bands
- Type: Active (target a player, affects target)
- One time thief power. You can steal either items or rings from a player.

It's an FFR original, so you can play it in the arcade section of FFR, but don't even try to download a version of it.

Edit: oops, it's really a secret song you need 15000 credits to play, but don't start asking for credits now.
