I wouldn't have even known people said your songs suck, unless you put it in the title. Anyone who say the Reclamation I made for that contest here around a year or two ago would know that it was worse than anything you'd ever make. brb playing now.

Edit: Wow, just wow. You might want to know there are things you can do in a simfile other than hands and jumpstreams. This has way too much of both.

Yeah, i put alot of hands on purpose but seriously, how am i suppost to improve when all i ever get is WOW YOU SUCK or DONT DO THAT. lol

My advice is to take Dynam0s advice and stop trying. It takes talent to make good sims, not just effort.

bmxant I wasn't trying to be mean. To be honest I didn't even look at your sim but I could tell from the others' comments that it wasn't that great. If you really want to make simfiles then I suppose Patashu has the right idea, but you should seriously think if it's worth it or not. To me, making simfiles just seems kind of boring and definitely not worth that type of effort to become decent at it.

However, if you truly want to make simfiles then go for it, but it's going to be hard as **** to get any good.

The problem is that practically the whole file needs to be changed. That's why we always say that the file sucks. It doesn't have any particular part that makes it great.

What you're lacking is mostly a recognition of the notes of a song. That is the main step in making simfiles. I can't teach you how to do this as learning it mainly comes from experience and from understanding files. I can help you with the process though.

Step a portion of this song (30 seconds to 90 seconds of it at a time), and send me the file each time so I can tell you how well you are doing.

ps don't make your steps like a bunch of trills (something that you have been doing for a while). Also try to avoid constant stream in general. They're pretty boring and don't have much variety.

I second pulling a Zanthro.

You'll end up with ****ing winners like Dough-nuts Town Map and Love Fighter.

Of course, you have to choose really good songs that appeal to a lot of people. Even though DNTM is kinda cutesy and japanesey it's the steps that make the file truly fun to play (beside's sertman's opinion rofl)

Love Fighter is just a blast to play. Every time you hit a three or four note press it feels like it MEANS something when you do so, like you're contributing to how the song itself sounds.

If Stepmania was like IIDX in the concept of keysounding, Love Fighter would probably be nearly 100% perfect because it already creates the bond between user and file

oh and constant streams are stupid (usually)
