LAR D:
Advertising should exist, just not have it appear everywhere you look. That's probably the most annoying part about it. Advertising should be a means of showing something new and different to the audience, not a means of unneeded publicity like Coca-cola who seem to have their advertising everywhere when it's not necessary anymore. The reason being is because people already know of it and buy it, & continue to buy it if they like it, or stop if they don't like it.

I love advertising, when it's creative. Not so creative that you don't know what the **** they're selling though or when it's all in your face (aka pop-ups) It doesn't really bother me much other than that.

Yeah, Useless.
Except the fact that capitalism is what is country is based upon, and advertising may be the single most important factor of capitalism. What a Moron.

The basis of what I am studying has to do with advertising. Yes advertising is everywhere, and some products are advertised more than others, its just how the ad industry works. The more ads that are sold for a product, then the more the ad sells obviously.
For the pop up ads, it's the person who is holding the camera, that recreates the image. The image tells story's of how life is supposed to be. You see women in all these erotic positions because it's supposed to symbolize weakness and then man in the photo will try and be the dominant figure. So half the time an ad isn't even selling a product, it's to show a way of life. If you act different then the images you see, then you are not the normality in society.

Moved to chit chat. Lack of critical thinking involved in responses and thread start.
Without advertising, FFR could not exist. Cheers, Synthlight |

Advertising lets broadcasting and other commodities stay cheap/free (FFR) and it informs potential consumers about things they may be interested in, which creates revenue for the company paying for the advertisement.
What's so wrong about advertising? It's only annoying when companies go crazy on it (e.g.: BF2142). Think things out next time before you post. Ta ta!

All free media and even a large portion of media people do pay for would either not exist or be ridiculously expensive if it weren't for advertising.
FFR definitely wouldn't be free. Then Synth would have to run in a wheel to generate power for the servers. Do you know many times a wheel has to spin to power an FFR server? A lot. |

I think advertisements are cool, you'll always see a cool or funny one and you can just add them to your joke book.
Such as the Comcast stupidly fast one. 23... 34... 64... 47... 64... 69... 82... 54... ZOOM Catches the fly with chopsticks. I just have to find someway to incoporate it into discussions. ~Tsugomaru |
