Don't flame this thread because I really haven't been caught up with Stepmania community news.

So Arch0wl supposedly quit because people were saying he was a fake (e.g easy judge difficulty or something?) and was full of himself? I saw one of his videos and he does appear narcisisstic at times. What's the scoop on it?

Well I finished reading arch's last post, and here are my conclusions from it. Sorry if I appear to be reviving a long-dead issue.

1) Arch0wl apparently believes online forums should be kept to an elite class of individuals, a belief that is clearly impossible to implement on the Internet

2) He was making a0.com out of something that he wanted for himself, but he didn't really mention what it was.

3) Lots of historical references, no matter how badly implemented, make someone's opinion sound sophisticated.

He...just stopped. I mean, can't come up with another way of saying it. He just doesn't post anymore and when he left he erased a lot of FFR people's from his contact list on AIM and stuff.

He has come back a few times.

He posted a few times under the name "Arch0wlR2" or something and a few more I think under the name "the_arch0wl". I think he quit for reals now though.

He became staff.
He AAA'd Quasar 1.5x index.
He got de-staffed.
He made A0.
He disbanded A0.
Leaked aim conversation between him and his girlfriend (I"LL LIFT WEIGHTS!!) etc came out.

He was around on the internet for a good deal after getting de-adminned here. In fact, a0.com was still hosted by Synthlight for several months afterward, although eventually Arch and Synth had a falling-out over server-wide bans and I had the pleasure of coordinating a Keith/Synth get-together in order to move a0.com to the BemaniStyle servers.

I believe his exact reason for leaving had something to do with the internet not being intellectual enough for him. He wanted to have meaningful discussions but forums were full of people who did not want to have have debates and sh!t. Rumor goes though, that he stopped his homeschooling and was going in to highschool. He took the entrance exams and they placed him in freshman year. If it's true then it's pretty ironic.
