Argo - In the old days, there were divisions. So you know who you think will win one of the divisions, what about the rest?

lets do it. i could win intermediate depending on who entered which category. If Tark and Argo enter intermediate it would be interesting. we'd be really close.

I ran the last official FFR League... complete with 4 divisions...

and dawg, tark, argo would be at least advanced (going with beginner, intermediate, advanced, expert).

the problem is... nobody would want to play in expert, as shash will win. so some who should be expert would wind up in advanced, so some in advanced will try and wind up in intermediate... etc etc. it happenened in the old ones, and i didn't like it then.

personally, if we did something like this again, we'd do it so that you sign up, but the organizers would place you in a division. that way it is less biased.

but, yea. i have no desire to run one again. that took HOURS of time. then again, there were as many as 200 people in 1 division.

What about having one division with seeds based on total score? Also if someone starts another one, put me in advanced please.

Tier 1/2 = expert
Tier 3= advanced
Tier 4 and other people ho feel they are around that level= intermediate
Anyone else=beginner

EDIT: Well, these ould have to be worked out and use this as sort of a guideline... looking at the list I can see where some changes would definately have to be made.

How about Tier3/4/anyone = advanced? That or they'd have to be difficult intermediate songs because everyone who's below the tier stuff would probably AAA everything.

Only 3 tiers needed IMO.

How about running the tourny with people only in the Tiers? That eliminates others from signing up and keeps it to a minimum level of people?

I know there's plenty of people who are not in the tiers that are worthy of competing, so you can't really do that. Maybe, to enter, you'd have to post a few decent scores to show that you are worthy of competing with the best of the best.

It'd be fairly easy to handle the whole what-division-do-you-belong in with a quick peek at your levelrank.php and the requirement that you've played at least 200 games of FFR to sign up.

Shash levelrank.php is not really reliable. There might be some people who are beastly but hardly ever play like myself. I'm good at FFR but my levelrank is crap because I hardly play. =P
