Default report bad sims

And no I don't even mean bad as in poorly made or not fun.

I mean stolen stepfiles, duplicates, files with no stepfile at all, etc.

My suggestion is to add a button, much like in the forums, to report bad sims.

I don't imagine it would be too difficult, and I do assume admins have the power to delete sims.

What made me think of it was this: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...hp?songid=4096 (definitely stolen).

Great idea. This is also a good example.

we need some sort of system for this because I would really hate to have Konami or Roxor steps up there. Lets take a look at this during the coming week and everyone as a community can decide what the most effective policy would be.

Cheers,

I have a pretty good idea for this.

Since Resonance already takes the .sm file from the song and loads it, couldn't you make a function that compares the .sm file in the zip to a cooresponding DDR/ITG .sm? That probably made no sense at all, but I hope it did.

I think a good system would be having authorized checkings of each sim submitted to the warehouse. Then, admins can check the simfile and see if it is stolen, a duplicate, etc....

Just a thought.

An approval system would work, I think, but you'd need dedicated people who will play sims a lot and will accept them as necessary.

The admins likely aren't up to spending so much time on that. A team of moderators would work, but then they would have to set up the mod privaleges system.

Another thing is that there could be some "recognized simfile artist" thing, AKA simfile artists that have made simfiles for like a year or so could be known as an "recognized simfile artist", and can bypass the authorization check system.

Just another thought.

I agree. I think it would be horrendously abused, at least for a while, but it's a good and necessary idea. A punishment system would need to be enacted for abusers. E.G. 1st offense- warning 2nd offense- banned from downloading files for a month 3rd offense- permaban.

This would be a good thing if someone decided to try and upload porn to the database, which is highly doubtful... but probably now, since I said it, someone will try to. Or already has.

For now, just use the contact form at the bottom of the main page, with a link and a reason, just until the other guys come up with a better system.

I'd try, but I'd get in trouble.

This n00b Rocks has the best ideal of all ( not trying to mock anyone) and once you set it up you can just let it go untill something turns up.
