Default Computer help

Alright, I got some problems with the gfx division of my comp and I need some help.
1. Whenever I open a page with quicktime my computer crashes, whenever I try to launch an application with quicktime my computer crashes.
2. Whenever I try to play some sort of game (stepmania, myst etc.) my computer crashes on the load.
AFter I did this suggested at another forum because myst was randomly crashing

Then, use Windows (not Internet) Explorer to search all hard disks and partitions for \temp, \tmp, and \temporary folders, and delete any files in these folders that aren't currently in use. If you can delete a file in a temp folder, it's not in use - if it's in use, Windows won't let you delete it.
-- a. Close all open applications, and open a Windows Explorer session. (Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer.)
-- b. Click on Tools > Find > Files or Folders.
-- c. Type temp in the Named: box.
-- d. Click on the arrow at the right end of the Look in: box and then click on the disk drive to be searched.
-- e. Click on Find Now to start the search.
-- f. Click on the temp folders found to open them.
-- g. Delete any files in these folders that aren't currently in use.
-- h. Repeat for tmp and temporary folders.
-- i. Close Windows Explorer back to the Desktop.
it started happening, just to give you an idea (maybe I did something wrong or possibly could have?)
Help would be greatly appreciated :]

Obviously you deleted something you shouldn't have. That wasn't very smart.

It might be mime settings that's making your browser freeze up if you have tons of media players or something like that.

I recommend: Back up all your data, check any crash logs that might be available regarding your games, run windows update, install a free antivirus utility and perform a scan, uninstall all unnecessary media players, make sure .mov files are associated with Quicktime, update the media players you use, and make sure your mime settings are set up correctly in Quicktime.

Do the backup first just in case. Also try alternative browsers if it's only IE 6 that crashes.

I later on restored everything I deleted.
You know, I do have some common sense contrary to popular belief.

Well if it's locking up like that then there is a resource conflict... but it's not a driver or RAM conflict otherwise BSOD would've made itself known.
It's a pain in the ass to diagnose anything that has to do with computers unless you're looking at it... so I cannot really help all that much... If a program is performing an "illegal operation" (who the **** decided to name that error? Is there really a legal system inbedded in the cpu somewhere? Stupid computer designers) can just lock the tower up real easy... And take a guess at how many "Illegal Operations" can be performed... I've hit a personal record of about 1k in 3 minutes... Wanted to see how long my tower could last out against a common Virus... so i loaded the virus about 50 times... Oh happy days.
