Default Americans

Everyone wants to have their own way and the higher ups can't say tough cookies because it wouldn't be fair and equal.

I like to wonder how the people would react if the
government suddenly changed to democratic socialism.
I'm pretty sure it would follow along the same line
as the metric system when it was introduced.

Yeah, I find it incredibly hilarious that our capitalistic economy clashes with our representative democracy. Either everyone should be equal or everyone should not be equal- I just wish our government would pick a side.

People in America may be pompous, but that doesn't stop it from being the greatest nation on earth.

America > rest of the world.

In a conversation like this, I always mention this quote from MIB 1

"A person is smart. But people are dumb - panicky, you name it!"

A single American person may have the smarts to see the nations errors. But on a whole, when they are deciding as one, they will follow the leader like sheep. If you watch how a "mob" can change a nice person in seconds, you'll know what I mean.

I think the American people are awesome (I know many), but they are stuck with a horrible leader. Don't judge a nation by it's leader.

Lol that's why you're rated the best country to live in in the world right? Oh wait, no you're not. Canada and Finland (or sweden) are the two best ranked countries to live in in the world.

I see that sarcasm doesn't transfer well on the internets.

And...Canada and Sweden are ranked best? In whose eyes? It's all a matter of perspective.

I'm not going to be replying in this thread anymore, since it'll quickly turn into a flamefest.

America is full of fat, homeless, and mentally ill people. Not a huge turn on. And most Americans are ignorant assholes. That's why I stay inside in my clean, people free room.

PS: I'm totally moving to Canada when I can. Probably after college.

Where'd that stereotype come from? Not always, flourescent. Most Americans are nice to me. Only the rednecks are mean assholes.
P.S. to whoever started this thread. It's better if you put it in the CT section.

Err, I believe the UN surveys countries. Shox is right, Norway is always either number one or two, Canada it's rival.

They use life expectancy, living conditions, deaths, average income, etc. To determine liveable countries.
