So... here's the story.

My friends and I were at this dude's house playing some 360 and well, this guy's mom is, um.. challenged. Let me tell u at the start, I still feel like crap.

Well, Halo2 has started another bad thing in my life. We were playing some big team battle and my friend was on the opposite team. I "PWN" him, as they
say, and hes say's "oh yeah,ure mentally challenged"(lame I know). Well here it come's the worst thing ever. I say (Since halo brings out the immature travis)" You're mom is mentally challenged"

I lose.

At this time,I had no idea that she was challenged....And she was standing right next to us. She run's in the room crying. We all know by now('cept her)
that those jokes aren't really pointed at anyone's mom. Well, now I feel like dirt.

Can someone please help me? Should I let it go or should I apolligize? His dad says when he finds out who did it, they wont be welcome in my home...

PLEASE HELP.

Well, if your friend who initially stated the mentally challenged insult has the mom that is that way, then he has some problem.

I think you should go and applogize. Just explain how it was an accident, and you didn't mean to say it, you just got caught up in the game. You didn't know that his mother was that way, and you will refrain from ever saying something like that ever again, as it can hurt peoples feelings. Make sure you are sincere in this, if the father is reasonable, which I certainly do not know if he is or not, he may forgive you. The absolute worst thing you could do is hide, becuase even if you don't get caught, it's immoral and not the right thing to do.

Also, I suggest changing the name of the topic, as it really isn't appropriate.

Yeah, fess up and apologize profusely. Maybe get your friend in there to vouch for you that you weren't directing the insult specifically at his mom. Basically, what Tps said.

OOOHHH the thing about that guys mom, I thought it was because you played Halo. I do the same thing, I always go "ahhh that's gaaay" or "shut up gayface". I don't have anything against gays, it was just an insult commonly used when I grew up, so it stuck. One day a massive black butch gay guy will be standing right next to me when I say it. I think you should say sorry and explain yourself, even if she still gets upset or mad its the least you could do.

Why the hell should you apologize? If someone came up to my Father and said "Your son is tall and white!" I wouldn't go off crying to my room. You should go up to this kids mom and tell her to suck it up. You were making a brilliant joke, it's not your goddamn fault she took it seriously. "Mentally challenged" people shouldn't be allowed to inconvenience us "normal" people. There should be laws.

mk, you should apologize as soon as possible. Things like that happen, true, but usually everything can be remedied if you show that you didn't truly mean it. I mean, you already know yourself that it wasn't directed at his mom personally, so you should explain that to (preferably) your friend's mother and hope for forgiveness.

mk, I think the best think you could do here, is just tell her/your friend's dad what you just told us. An apology may just be viewed as an empty "I'm sorry" to avoid any kind of "punishment" (in this case, not being welcomed in your friend's home). Just be completely honest, and explain the whole situation.

Also, for the future, be sure to watch what you say, especially if you don't or can't know what you're talking about. I've had several foot-in-mouth situations coming back to such simple mistakes as yours.

well first of all do not apologize until he gives u the first apology, because if it wasnt for him calling u mentaly challenge, u probably would have never called his mother a retard. it is as much as his fault as it is yours. so dont not apologize until he apologizes to u first.
