The moderator thread

Lately there's been discussion going on in regards to the chat room and forum having to much cluttering up with junk, spam, etc. and not enough mods to keep the peace. Because of this I've decided to create this thread, a chance for anyone who feels that they would be a good mod for either the forum or chat room to say their bit on why they would be good for the positition. This thread isn't here to determine who is going to be a new mod, it's simply here to give the admins something to look at and consider if they decide that they do in fact want any new mod(s). Please state which position you would like and give the pros and cons to why you should have this position. Also include 1 person who you would choose as a moderator other than yourself and state why. You can change this later if you need/want to for any reason.

Please make it easy to read and be honest! Have AT LEAST 1 con!

One more thing, please do not post any comments in here unless you are an admin/moderator!

Position: Forum moderator

Pros

- I've been a long time FFR member
- I am always friendly to the noobs and know that they don't realise that something has been said a billion times before. I let them know this politely
- When something has to be editied/locked I would know when to do it, friendlyness has it's limits.
- I've always tried to help out FFR in any way I can. I've done several news posts trying to promote the forums, Remix #2, etc.
- I'm online on the FFR forum quite frequently, ie. I'd be here to help out often.
- In the past I was the first to discover on several occasions threads that should not be there for secret issues. I was able to PM the thread creater and several times got him/her to change their post.
- Now that I've found out how, I can create songs for FFR, more dedication
- I want the job to be a help, not just to brag
- I wouldn't ban people for their oppinions or because I don't like them. If I did there would have to be a REALLY good reason
- I speak in english with good spelling and grammer (english as opposed to d00d 1m 50 k5w1!!!!!11) (with the exception of the word w00t. Everyone's got to say w00t now and then)
- I'm not going anywhere. If I became a mod I'd be here to stay for a long time.
- I can now say that I have modding experience here. (Sign up!)

Cons

- I hardly ever enter the simulator or gaming sections of the forum except for the general video games section. (I would try to change this if I was a mod)

I would probably select Arch0wl if not myself because I know he's an admin on his own forums and he's the reason I started to post here in the first place.

Pros:
-Im on FFR CONSTANTLY
-Im a very nice person
-I know what to get rid of, synth knows a from a while back
-I know when to shut my mouth about things
-I would be willing to tell "noobs" what they are doing wrong or if they need help in a PM, not to cludder the main fourm

CONS:
-I used to be "somewhat" mean to new people, but IAMTHEEVILBEAN helped me come to my sences
-I havnt been here too long, like 4 months, but i feel i am up to the job

EDIT: i forgot to say who i would say would be a better mod than me, i would have to say.... Qreepy, he has always been nice to and new people and he has been around forever!

Good stuffz

- i come here everyday.
- i have mod and admin experience. Moderated at ffextreme...which had like 3000 members or so, for almost a year.
- i don't mind helping people, or helping out with stuff.
- i think im pretty nice and tend to avoid flaming.
- been here awhile too.

cons

- i don't enter alot of the forums that get few posts...only once in awhile.
- sometimes im lazy.

A better mod? moogy i'd say.

Now heres something I would like to do

first of all Ana is ugly and does a horrible job at modding and so does the other kid whatever his name is

-I wouldnt be afraid to kick jackasses out of the chat for spamming etc
-I would be fair and give them a chance before kicking them
-I handle power well and wouldnt go all insane with power and start a forum regime dominating ffr...no I wouldnt do that
-Anyone who messes with anyones race, religion beliefs would be kicked immediatly

Cons

-The people might not like me...but Oh well
-Im not in the chat very often because of the morons.....but will start going in soon

Pros:
I have modding experience at another PHPBB2 forum (*removed*). There I am usually a bit free of editing though, but I know there are stricter rules here.

As above, I know and regard the rules.

I do not speak lie a moron, generally.

I am here whenever I can be, e.g. when I am not grounded. Maaaaaaaaany times daily.

I have been here a while, admittedly not as long as some other viable canidates, but, still a while. That can't be bad.

I am usually first to see bad things. It just how it is. Good modem :O.

I am not a xomplete asshole, but I think I can be a good judge on when to be, and when is probably a bad time.

I can tell where a thread has gone completely out of control, not that that takes a whole lot of skill, or anthing though.

I have common sense to a degree. Very, very useful.

I am very willing to help people out. If you have a not stupid question that I know an answer to, I will suredly answer it.

I dont like excessive flames. Excessive is bad, and gets redundant. This is why mods can lock things.

I am one honest mofo.

I go into every section (usually).


Cons:

I have a poor memory. Not like 100% shit, but, not so good.

I am only 13. I cant say how that would tie in, but somehow I think it would.

Like the first con, I had a couple more cons, but I could not remember them. Dammit.

I guess I get grounded ALOT.

Schoolwork = Boo.

EDIT FOR PROS: I remember that I met all of Synthlight's basic criteria except for the Modding thing and PHPBB2 stuff. Those now I can use somewhat...okay-ly.

Pros
I'm an admin of my own boards. Yeah. Even though they are just random crap, I have had modding experience. And on other sites, too.

I know when to lock a thread. I mean, seriously, some of those topics in Chit Chat should have been locked on like page 2.

I'm very active. I mean, look at my posts.

Can mod any time on weekends, and any time after school, usually.

I flame sometimes, but I try to avoid it unless I'm in an asshole mood, or I'm really bored or something. Or the person I'm flaming is a total retard.

I read and post everywhere, pretty much.

I'm not stupid.

I'll help people if they ask me or PM me or something.

I'm friendly to newbies, unless they make an ass out of themselves with their first post.

Cons

I haven't really been here that long, but what the hell.

I might occasionally screw around with people, like edit or delete all their posts. This probably wouldn't happen unless they really really really pissed me off, though. And that's kind of hard to do, unless I'm in a bad mood.

And... yeah. I hope you consider me.

Position: Chat Mod,Forum Mod

Pros: I have admin and/or moderator experience from many sites before I've subsribed to. Im always on FFR,In the chat most people like me there,Im a fair person,I give warning and chances but if you hit the limit,your gone. Im an active member,pretty good at ffr even though it has nothing to do with being a mod. Im not a retarded little child. Im matture enough to handle the position.

EDIT- I like to help the newcomers to Forums and playing this type of game.As you can see in the introduction thread Im always welcoming the new people and letting them know if they need help Im always available by EMAIL,PM,Or FFR Chat

Forums im pretty fair most people know me. I dont flame unless I get it my way.

Cons: None really I havnt had any complaints from previous sites.
I think I might go on a locking thread forum spree sometimes..cause most threads are shit and useless...

I never flame.
I am tolerent to newbies.
I'm wont tolerate topics made for the purpose of postwhoring (Outsides of the garbage and game forums.)
I'm on A LOT. 5+ hours a day probably.
I tend to be as nice as possible.
My writing in readable, unlike some people...
I've been here half a year.

cons
No mod experience.
I never really read the dance-dance revolution, or non-stepmania, non-FFR simulater forums.

i dont want to write alot but i need to nominate arch and qreepy...they have similar styles firstly they will use their forum powers to the max, which will clean up things dramatically...and they have both been here awhile...con, well the obvious, they hate n00bs, and theyre not too patient with anyone in general

i have been a big advocate of less garbage threads and i think they might be the best do to it

Nah...I don't think Arch0wl...I mean, when you're dealing with trolls and newbs that are out of line (like flaming mods) it'd be cool, but anywhere else he'd be too ban/edit happy.

In my mind, it would come down to either SotN, Freak83 or Brainmaster. I think I would say SotN...although any of them would make good mods.

I might be a good Forum mod because:
Pros:
I check the forum every night
Don't usually flame (except n00bs sometimes, but I can work that out)
I know how to use punctuation (lol bballplaya)
I wouldn't ban people or lock threads unless they were truely wasting bandwidth
I'm not racist, sexist, or a complete asshole.
I'm fairly good at FFR

Cons:
I do tend to flame n00bs...but then, I can work that out.
When I get bored, I get dangerous.
I post some pretty dumb stuff sometimes...but that can also be worked out.

Generally I think I'd be a pretty good forum mod.

the problem is it needs to be someone with alot of time and someone that is real mature, almost a college student...like 87 or nestle, but they also need to be harsh on morons without flaming and deal with n00bs...just my opinion

Pros:
- I am not dumb or ignorant.
- I don't postwhore, and if I do it's once in a blue moon as a joke.
- I am on FFR daily.
- I am experienced with being an admin/mod, because I have my own forums.
- I am very well respected on this site.
- I have a huge disrespect for idiots and postwhores.
- I am familiar with the rules on this site and what postwhoring is.
- Lots of people nominated me and want me for mod.
- Believe it or not, I am NOT edit happy. I do ban people on my forum and lock topics, but I usually don't edit posts.
- I would use my powers frequently.
- I can easily help clean up these forums.
- I have been here for nearly a year.
- I make DWI's for the site
- I AAAA'ed Reach's mom

CONS:
- Some people consider me disgruntled, rude, arrogant, an asshole, mean, cynical, unpolite, condescending, callous, unfriendly, ill-tempered, snide, bad-tempered, bitchy, malicious, shameless, despicable, juvenile, immature, and other adjectives for describing that I can be an asshole.
