Creating step files simultaneously with playback?
I'm attempting to create some step files for some of my favorite J-pop songs, but I find that the Edit/Sync Songs option of StepMania is not very intuitive. Basically I'd like to listen to the song while simultaneously putting in the beats, which would make it incredibly easy. I don't suppose that's possible, is it?

yup. select a portion of the step chart by hitting the space bar at the beginning, (or wherever) and again at the end, (or whereever, as long as it's after the first one.
hit ctrl + r, and get ready to start hitting arrows.
