Here's something that i think no one can answer but there will be many replies to attempt to answer this.

Why do people drive in parkways and park in driveways?

The world is just so confusing and some question should be left alone but our curious human minds will still attempt this dastardly query.

a parkway is a road in a park, so you're driving thru the park on the parkway

also back in the day of farms and whatnot, driveways were hella long so it felt like you were driving just on that part of a trip. Plus tem being that long you could do 35-40 and not have to worry about accidentally going in to the road and getting broadsided.

of course i could be pulling this all outta my ass, but it sounds legit.
