I have a song that is in 3/4 time. Is there anything different to do to a stepfile than if it was 4/4 time?

Hmm.. I'm not really sure how it would work out. Since SMeditor uses 4/4 time, the measure markers will obviously not work out, but.. I don't think it'll actually affect the play of the file aside from it maybe having a swing-ish feel.
I dunno. I'm sure someone else will have a better answer for this. I'd say just try it and see what happens. |

When playing, SM doesn't take notice of whether a song is in 4/4 or otherwise. The only way it would is if your noteskin is set to display it in such a way, like eb's R2 noteskin. I'm pretty sure that nearly every other noteskin has no effect which indicates 4/4 measures though.
Stepping a 3/4 song in SM really shouldn't be a problem, and under normal play conditions, it'd be impossible to tell.

Sup yellow arrow syndrome, other than that there shouldn't be any problems I guess.

Normal music is 4/4. That means 4 beats to one measure or something. When you have 3/4 it's 3 beats to one measure, like a waltz. It has no effect on 16th beats.

Tropicana has YAS and it switches from 3/4 time to 4/4 back and fourth so I guessed it would be the same for him :X
EDIT: Wait, it's not 3/4, it's something else whatever i'm too retarded for this ****

3/4 would be something like cutie chaser in DDR
4/4 is the most common thing some have stuff like 7/8 timing (holic for example) beats per measure/note that gets one beat (4 = quarter note) (8 = 8th note) etc etc so cutie chaser has 3 beats per measure and the quarter note gets 1 beat |
