Actually, it wouldn't take LD/Synth long at all.

As long as the site is programmed well (and i'm sure it is), replacing images for avatars should basically amount to swapping in some hard-coded files. Let's say there are 12 avatars each with 8 poses (depending how good you do) then that's 106 images to replace. Half hour, TOPS. And Synth/LD wouldn't be drawing the pictures, they'd just be picking the ones they wanted for avatars out of approximately 100 peoples' entries. And if you want to be even LESS of a burden, have an FFR Forum vote-off - picking one avatar a week for a while.

And since R2 is coming, this might be *EVEN MORE* important.

Ok well while the actual subject is still able to be called back to the center of attention....I would also like to see some better avies in the actual game, or, even better, UPLOAD YOUR OWN. However, I don't know how that would work with bandwidth and so on, but that aside, newer, better avatars is a very good idea. Ask bursurk lurk....he has some awesome BGs on his sims, maybe some of those pieces could be cropped into avatars or something....
..(and then another idea hit me)...We could put these next to highscores, assuming that players got highscores. And the winner's icon/avy could be shown after a victory on the other player's screen with the message "j00 g0t pwnt!"
....OK I'm done. =)
