I'm bragging on behalf of Saney (Aaron) for doing this. A couple of you already know about this, but here's for the rest of you.
http://jammersbase.ath.cx/downloads Auto-matic score entry for o2jam. Aaron is an amazing programmer to be able to do this. It's sort of a way to stick it to Ross after he tried hacking the site.

Now I don't mind you insulting me or fighting with me or whatever, because that's one thing-- upright lying about me is a ridiculously underhanded and childish thing to do. Pray tell, when exactly was it that I hacked your website? In fact, I helped saney make the website LESS hackable.

There is something called "ethical hacking," where people try to find holes in security before the real bad guys do so in order for them to be fixed. But there probably isn't enough information to decide whether this is the case or not.
Anyhow, this automatic score entry sounds like it must have been extremely difficult. Congrats to Saney and TehWhack for what they have accomplished. |

And although I congratulate Saney on creating the score reader, I wouldn't call it "extremely difficult," as reading lossless pixels isn't that bad. Now, if he had done it with jpgs, and used hidden markov models to figure out what letters were there (the same technique that's used in voice recognition), I'd be impressed. Still, good work to Saney. |

Aaron (Saney) has said himself that you did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help him but recommend Sha-1 encryption for the site and using salt. Even though it's just a small recommendation it's not really making the site "less hack-able". If anything you discouraged the site from the start saying ignorant things like "There is no point to this website".
I wouldn't try to hide from the fact that you're a pretty big candidate to when the website was blatantly hacked when it was still in its beginning stages. The only person that would have had a need to hack the site at the time would be you. If you could tell us who else would have had a strong motive to do this, please shout out a name. If you were to notice I say "I'm bragging on behalf of Saney (Aaron) for doing this." as the VERY FIRST sentence of this thread, I guess "since TehWhack hasn't done any of programming he brags about." is complete bunk already. Saney does not regular this site. Just quit the bulls.hit Ross, maybe there's some one else who stumbled upon the site and decided to be a lamer, but right now you're holding the smoking gun. Everything else that you've said to me has been straight up bulls.hit though.

I wasn't even aware the site was hacked. I will admit that I haven't liked the idea of the website from the beginning (in the same way you don't like mine), and that I'm pretty decent with computers, but I honestly don't know the first thing about hacking. Ask anyone who doesn't hold a major grudge against me and they would tell you that I would never go so far as to hack a website; ever.
As for SHA-1, I guess you could say I "suggested" it to him, sure, but I spent over an hour guiding him through the process-- that's not exactly an off-hand remark. As for not making the site less hackable, IIRC, the passwords had absolutely no protection on them beforehand and therefore anybody who could get access to the file could easily disrupt the entire system. |

O2Jam sucks. Get over it and play a real game.
