Wow, even though I have been doing some tutorial with photoshop I don't think I could manage that without at least 2 hours on hand.
I have my first try at water under the, 'I just got Adobe Photoshop!" thread. Otherwise, I think it looks cool.

What Moogy meant to say was "photoshop filters should rarely ever be used. Only photoshop newbs whore the filters. It is very unprofessional and looked down upon in the photoshop community. But dont worry about that, just have fun. Playing around with photoshop is a good way to learn about the program. Perhaps read up on a few on-line tutorials. Stick with it! I believe in you.
Love,
Moogy"

There's nothing wrong with filters if they aren't blatantly obvious.

PS: That doesn't look cool at all. Especially the 3D Renders.

Uh...

Where's the good part?

It's basically just a bunch of generated terrain with a water material added to the land plane.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a photoshop genius, but you sure as hell haven't made anything that I've seen that I was actually impressed with.

PS: I used two filters making this picture: http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/7...wounded8jx.jpg

Haha, Bryce newb. Bryce can't even look good when you've mastered it. Get another program, please, work at it, then post pictures.

Here are some old pieces I made in Photoshop by playing with the filters.

Kinda pointless, looked a little cool though.

This is pretty basic yet cool. All I remember about it was polar coordinates and ripple or some other distort filter.

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten much better at Photoshop, mainly because I stopped caring =/ You'd all most likely laugh at my grunge attempt.

Here are two images I made from scratch using photoshop and a lot of filters. They arent any spectacular and they mustn't take much skill to make seeing as I a made them a few years ago. I dont remember all the filters I used, but I will give it my best.

Probably rendered clouds -> polar coordiantes -> then added waves (or something like that). The rest was just messing with hues, maybe a little guassian blur and then blending properties.

I remember rendering a 3D sphere (the big red thing) and blurring it so it looks smoother. The stars (all them dots) I made using the add noise filter.

Lol, I just started using Bryce. I am trying to use Maya 6 but i still need to work a bit harder. That ou see there was my first one in bryce. i have already made mechanical looking tiwers with a pyramid on the top and has an eye. I dont think Bryce has all the capibilities though. So I am gonna use more Maya 6.

I use photoshop filters all of the time. That's how I get most of my pictures the way they are. I make this one snakeskin desktop by making brown streaks and then using the Gaussian blur. Then I twirled and rippled it a little. Then I made some words. Then I used the stained glass feature and made the tiles pretty small. Then I lasso'd the words and used Ink Outline on them. Wa-la! Semi-Snake sking desktop..

maybe I am a filter whore.....

I've never known any Graphics site wether it be based on signatures or it be based on the creation of large pieces condemn filters with so much passion.
In fact, using only filters takes much more skill, many say.

Sorry, but straight filters didn't make this: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26925343/

Infact, I didn't use a SINGLE filter on that.
