Spike Video Game Awards 2005 Nominees
The Spike TV Video Game Awards 2005 is almost here and the nominees have officially been announced. The event takes place on Friday, November 18 at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles with the two-hour games vs. games? extravaganza premiering on Spike TV Saturday, December 10 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).
The show will be hosted by actor and producer Samuel L. Jackson, who was a winner at last year's show for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Vin Diesel, The Rock, Missy Elliot, Snoop Dogg, Carmen Electra, Xzibit and Ozzy Osbourne are also set to appear at the third annual awards event. View the nominees below.

Everyone is complaining about the 50 Cent game.

Play it first. It's controls are a tad sloppy, as is the camera, but the graphics are incredible. The voice acting is above and beyond industry standards. The gameplay is fun. The music? Awesome.

This "award show" is little more than an overproduced, sensationalized corporate hype-machine for upcoming products. The judging is highly suspect, and most of the so-called nominees are for games not yet released at the time of broadcast.
