Edit-sorry about the random Chinese characters. Too lazy to fix them.

It's really bias around males and the older teenage group.

A lot of the categories have good answers, yet this has nothing to do with people's choices, it was all Spike.

Probably to get more mainstream attention, and to appeal to the older male crowd, as Snapps has said. Even though I haven't played most of these games, just looking at the list already indicates that there was no full consideration on games.

Also, since Spike isn't a videogame focused channel, I doubt that it would have went in-depth, anyway. =/

This is the most fucking biased pile of shit I've seen in a long time, coming from a school derived on the homophobia society brings us. 3 freaking categories where a Nintendo game is even mentioned. Nintendo is a lot better than that, come on.

The only reason Nintendo is only mentioned 3 times is probably because of the horrid category choices.

It's a darn shame probably one of the three unbiased categories isn't much of one, anyway...

Sony PSP... the ability to combine the Playstation and make it Portable, what breakthrough tech!
Xbox 360? WOW! The power to crash every 30 minutes! Why the hell haven't I thought of that?
Voice recognition, ah, the technology used on Hey You! Pikachu, so 2 generatinos ago
Unreal Engine is I'm guessing the Unreal Tournament Engine. I don't exactly call that tech
And I don't know what the heck this facial thing is

WOW.

That was probably one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
I'm sorry, I just don't have time to spend my life learning these terms. I was beaten and abused as a child, and I use the library computer until they kick me off in a biased manner towards orphans, I'm sorry :'(

There, I googl'd it. It's a next gen system for making games.

I watched this the first year they had...I was all excited. It was the stupidest fucking thing I had ever seen. I mean, what other legit award show has a bra and panties wrestling match? It was just completely retarded through and through...It's things like this that keep video games from being taken seriously.

Nominating 50 Cent took away all credibility. Like what the fuck?

This is even more of an embarssment to games than Gphoria

Everyone is complaining about the 50 Cent game.

Play it first. It's controls are a tad sloppy, as is the camera, but the graphics are incredible. The voice acting is above and beyond industry standards. The gameplay is fun. The music? Awesome.

Just because it has his name attached doesn't mean it's going to automatically suck. You all complain about the list being biased, you hypocrites.

Scratching my melon:
All I'm saying is that as of November 18(the date the show was taped), no 'legit' site had a review of 50 Cent : Bulletproof yet.
Why? Because it was released November 18th, the same day the show was taped. Plus, you gotta figure they had the winners picked a week or two beforehand...

QFE. The entire game show was a mockery of gamers. But I guess that's just a reflection of the bullsh*t industry Game Developing has become.

Even some of the folks at Wikipedia think the Spike TV Video Game Awards is BS.
This is for real:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_T...me_Awards_2005
Quote:
This "award show" is little more than an overproduced, sensationalized corporate hype-machine for upcoming products. The judging is highly suspect, and most of the so-called nominees are for games not yet released at the time of broadcast.
I'm pretty sure somebody will come along to change it, so get it while it's hot.

It's a bunch of hype for bad, mainstream games. As Jewpin said, it's a mockery of gaming.

I'll stick to playing my imported Japanese video games, not this Americanized rubbish.
