Default how do you create BPM changes in making a stepmania simfile?

Im making a simfile (my last one i sent in to be put on site and i never heard anything back) and i want to put a BPM change in. I looked in the guide in FAQ, but that doesn't seem to work. Help please?

Use f7 and 8 to increase/decrease. If it's a big change, you'll want to hold down tab+the f key to make it increase/decrease faster.

You can also highlight a group of arrows and press ENTER and choose "compress 2x" or "expand 2x", you can even change the arrows into 12th beat structure by choosing "compress/expand 3>4" or whatever.

Be sure to save before you do this, it might fuck up the entire file.
