Most people are going to state the generic reasons why they think DBZ sucked.

I'll tell you that if any show can accurately drag out a fight while retaining that much interest, it's DBZ. Though looking back, I honestly hated the show. Fights between two people shouldn't last for more than 5-10 episodes. When I say "fights between two people", I mean not counting extra tales to tell in-between like other people fighting and suchnot.

How long did the Goku vs. Frieza fight last? 25, 30 episodes? Sheesh.

I think the Freeza fight was more around 50 episodes.

I was a pretty big fan of DBZ. I know basically all there is to know about it. I don't watch it anymore or really even care anymore though.

I liked DB,loved DBZ,and thought DBGT sucked.Ill watch DBZ when ever it comes on.

I didn't even like it when it was popular. I didn't have cable when everyone was talking about it, and I only saw like one or two episodes, and I didn't like those two.

Once I got cable, they were finishing up the Buu saga. I saw two more episodes and I said "Wow this is some corneh crap right here."

So I'm NOT one of those hypocrites. I hate and hated DBZ and I will hate it forever with a passion.

I'll admit, I loved DBZ and in some ways I still do. I actually was excited when they started airing the uncut version of the first couple of seasons. In some ways, I kinda hated how they dragged out fights though. 15 minutes of staring at someone doesn't make it more exciting. But when the fights actually begijn, they are truly a thing to behold.

Now just because a fight scene takes a long time, it doesn't mean the anime is bad. Take Naruto for example. The fight between Zabuza, Haku, and Team Seven lasted literally over 15 episodes. For one fight. Did it still kick ass? Meh, partially. That's why I still think manga has the edge over anime. Holy shiz, I digressed. O_o

But they never did. There was no action or just not enough. Then again, I don't really like all of that anime stuff. It just got old. It's all, Hey lets go kill the bad guy, take his gold, and save the day!, crap.
One anime show I still watch is Full Metal Alchemist, which is original.

Personally, DBZ wouldnt be all that bad if it werent for the fact it drags on. Same with Bleach, One Peice, and any other shounen/shoujo anime. The only reason anime like that exists is advertisement.

Series like Pokemon, Yugioh, or Power Rangers are different though. They are based around merchandise.

I still like DBZ.

Granted, the saga I least liked was the Frieza saga, so I kind of agree with the dragging parts. And, I never got to see the Buu saga (over a hundred episodes? If that doesn't drag on, I don't know what does), but I loved all the rest. Saiyan saga, Garlic Saga, Budokai Saga, Android saga, Cell Saga, it was all good.

On top of that, the movies kicked ass. There's one place that the fights DON'T drag, and all the story has to be compacted into an hour/hour and a half, whatever.

I don't believe they ever said, "I will kill you" in DBZ. They did say however, "I will send you to another dimension" amirite?

How bout' Goku's journey to Namek... that was insanely long too, if I remember correctly.

Despite all the crap it gets, i gotta say i was a huge dbz fan, but i hardly ever watch it anymore. I think one main problem with the show other than the fact that it draged out alot of stuf, was the fact that they made Goku so powerful, the fact that no mater what even if he died he still beat the shit out of everyone gets old, I mean it also had super predictable plotlines, repetitive too. But hey i cant hate, i loved that shit man.
