![]() This doesn't belong in the Garbage Bin at all, because I would get all sarcasm and stupid answers and I need a serious answer.
About 10 minutes ago I felt a sharp pain in my lower ribs on the right side of my body, the pain lasted less than a second though. For the past 10 minutes I've been feeling a very small bit of pain in that same location. Now here's my question. Isn't this where the appendix(sp?) is located? For those who have had to have their appendixes removed, did your first small wave of pain start where mine did? |

![]() Appendix bursting starts as dull pain.
You probably have like gas or something, dude.

![]() The appendix is more in the front, but yes, on the right side of your body. If it's the back side (and the pain is attributed to an internal organ), it'd be a kidney.
I've had these before, and they'll likely pass. If you're worried about appendicitis, press on the area and see if it's tender. If not, it's probably just some weird pain. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

![]() Thats usually the first sign of appendix damage, but it might not even be that.. As i recall, the appendix IS located on the lower right below the ribs...You should go to a doctor and get that checked out. If you have any of these symptons soon, call a doctor.

![]() I get that occasionally too, and it's usually just a kind of stitch. Actually, Qreepy's probably right.

You are not curled up into alittle ball on the floor. You are not in such excruciating pain that you have to go to the ER. You do not have appendicitis. :P

![]() My friend had hers removed...
Before she did, she had really strong pain in the stomach, and ribs. Almost everyday she was sent home sick until they found out the problem. I also had these aches before. My dad always told me to drink water, even when i am not thirsty, and the little pain stopped, because usually i wouldn't even think of it as a serious thing.

![]() Don't get worked up about all this appendix stuff.. It's likely that your appendix is not the issue.
I had a similiar incident last year while in the FFR chat (not joking). I had this pain on my right side just below my ribs.. It came and went and then a little later it hit me so hard that I fell out of my chair and onto the ground in pain (while still in chat). After an hour of trying to figure out if I was going to die, my wife brought me to the hospital. I make it sound easy but the pain was so intense that I cannot even explain it. It turned out to be a kidney stone. I have broken bones snapped tendons, nearly burned my face off but nothing compared to my kidney stone as far as pain goes. Is that the cause? Dunno, but realize if it is, you just have to let it do it's thing. If you continue to hurt get your parents to drive you into the hospital! Cheers, Synthlight |

![]() It's probably not a kidney stone. He's a bit young to get one, unless he eats like 400 grams of protein a day and about as much salt. :P
And Synth, you MUST retell the musket-grade gunpowder story.

![]() Kidney Stone = Sign of Old Age... my father bitches about passing stones the size of golf balls.
Remember kids... those stones pass through your pee-pee hole. NOT fun. PS - Its likely just a muscle spasm or a cramp. I think we all get them from time to time.

![]() Ok, two hours have passed and it's better. I guess it was nothing.
Kidney stones suck, my dad had two of them. For one of them, the pain couldn't have come at a worse time and place. I swear, I don't think anybody will be able to beat this: For his first kidney stone, the pain came when he was IN THE AIR, SKYDIVING. Then the second was while driving. |

![]() I get this thing once in a while... maybe once a month or every 2 months where all of a sudden I have this insane pain in the left side of my neck for a split second and the shock from it lasts almost 10 minutes its so bad. All of the muscles in my body just go tense.
=/ Doctors are scary.
