So i've been playing 1 handed for about a month on ffr when a couple days ago i got SM. To my dismay my one handed skills sucked on the vast amount of heavy songs in SM. So i decided to try some 2 hand 4 finger action and now i can do more than half of the heavy songs now. I even got a screenshot of one:
![]() I definitely think im gonna stick with 2 hand 4 finger now.... |

There is a reason everyone plays 4 finger
Good luck with your new style.

4 finger spread or 4 finger arrows?
(if not spread, try it) have fun with stepmania! a lot of frustration and anger is headed your way, hahaha.

Okay when people say spread they mean instead of using the arrow keys or numpad, you manually set up your keys in a row lining up with the arrows. So if you set your keys up as ZXCV or DFJK, for example, that would be a spread setup.

lol this might sound dumb, but I play on the numpad with my index fingers. However, as the songs get harder, more and more of my fingers feel like jumping in and helping, so they do. :P lmfao! After a while I'm using around 6 ish fingers sometimes i guess (how the fuck do you do that anyway) and then I still do really good. I mean, I'm rank 388 on ffr now, I got SM but it was buggy so it poofed. lol

Spread seems to work a lot better for me but i tend to have trouble with MA now... my perfects or greats seem to outdo my marvelous.
But spread helped me barely pass FOTS. (And yes i know it sucks but ive only been playing for a month) ![]() |

Uhhh...what life difficulty are you on? I'm pretty sure it's impossible to pass FOTS on life 4 with such a low score and high boo and miss counts.

Well Nuclear, it kinda negates it because it's like putting the game on easy and comparing the score to what people get in normal difficulty.
I think if you have trouble with the hard songs you should either go back to the songs you can pass, or if you really want to practice on the harder songs, turn on FailOff because at least that way you won't get used to playing on J1/L1, which will just end up hurting you later. |

Also, Nuclear, you might want to turn on Event Mode so you don't go back to the starting screen every 3 rounds. |
