Okay, so I recently started playing this again.
This is easily the best final fantasy game I have ever played. NO I DID NOT PLAY FINAL FANTASY 1-6 OR TACTICS SO DON'T TELL ME HOW MUCH BETTER THEY ARE. Anyways, I really like it because when you finish the storyline it isn't over like a lot of other games are. You can keep going around and around the sphere grid, it would take forever to finish it, and when you do, you can even make it better. And the monster arena is a ton of fun, although it is frusturating trying to capture ten of the really rare or hard to kill monsters. Then you get to try to kill earth eater or nemesis or neslug or whatever you feel like dying to today. Anyways, I find it to have a good plot, and a TON to do, so discuss. Also, tring to beat 0:0.0 on the chocobo race is the most frustrating thing ever. Except for dodging 200 lightning bolts. Discuss. |

FFX > FFVII. I've been trying to push that for so long. I don't see what's so great about FFVII, and they make a billion sequels to THAT?!
FFX is the end all and be all to Final Fantasy, in my opinion. No storyline can compare to it. The music was enchanting, magical. The battle system was actually fun, and flawless. I absolutely loved that game from beginning to end. The story was the best part, of course, but it was probably the most satisfying experience overall (aside from all the nauseating side quests) I've ever had with a game. It's the first and only game whose ending, I'm not afraid to admit, actually made me cry.

I played FFX over the summer(I had borrowed my friend's copy). A great game, but I really like Grandia II.

Fun game, the only problem i had with it was that it was too damn linear.

I never beat Nemesis =( Got close before though. Also powering up Onion Knight is really annoying, I've done it once though.

And in my opinion, all aspects of FFX did not apeal to me (sucked). Another story pitting heroes against one giant evil being bent on destroying the world. Only one outcome.. Of course there was an interesting sub-plot in there, but I can't say that was the main focus.. after a certain point at least. The music was lacking.. I am a huge Nobuo Uematsu fan. Bought the FFVII soundtrack (Loved the music, but the game was just alright. I believe it held more magic when I was younger) but I can't say I enjoyed the music. While most was collaboration, I can't say it worked out. Yatta yatta, opinion opinion. I'm not checking this thread anymore. |

I didn't like the characters in that game. If i'm gonna be
playing for someone for 10+ hours in a game I want them to be neat characters. That's why I liked FFIX, because Vivi and Zidane were funny. I liked it more than FFVII, because I DO NOT LIKE CLOUD, he is a whiny little anoyying guy.

I really enjoyed playing FFX. And I want to play it again. I thought it was a well done game. Not too long, not difficult, and the plot was pretty sound. I didnt mind that it was linear, and I honestly think people who call a game "linear" are just making up excuses to not like the game.
I thought the soundtrack was really good...though it didnt have a super easily recognizable song like "One Winged Angel," it was still a great soundtrack overall, and one of the few soundtracks where I think it could pass on it's own without ties to the game. The environment design was pretty awesome too...probably a big selling point for me. I really liked the plot too. Not so much the whole "hey we have to go fight sin" deal, but everything else. I know the story was the driving factor in the game for me. Though the "twist" and ending were pretty predictable. I thought Yuna's speech at the end was a nice touch and I wish they had ended the story there. FFX-2....uuuuugh. That's all I have to say about that. |

I liked the idea of continuing the story of final fantasy X, it had plenty of room to do that, except they bloody massacred the plot, which pisses me off,
Max stats are 255. The monster arena will be your friend. Super armor though is really hard to make, I would guess like auto-stuff but I dunno, it might not work well.

The game was way too god damn linear. If that had of added a world map the game would have been so much better right there.

FFX-2 is the worst game ever. I got to chapter 2 and quit because it was the worst thing I'd ever played.

I think the linearization is what kept the story together. The story would've gotten jumbled, and then it's wouldn't have been as good as it was.
I only bought FFX-2 because of the story of FFX. X-2 isn't too bad in my opinion, but only for one play through. I'm in agony forcing myself to play for 100%.

I hated the story so much. It was pointless,"Oh I'm just a dream I'm gonna jump off a ship now and never exist,". I never played X-2 but my friend told me about how Tidus comes back or some shit like that. Ya Square-Enix kinda totally ruined Final Fantasy. Good job America.

FFX is a terrible game. It was the first part of Square's plan to make all of their game CG-driven crapfests, with greater focus on the OMG REALISTIC GRAPHIX than gameplay or story. Well, actually, that was FF7. But it didn't really work until FFX. Or something. I don't know. FF sucks. 'Cept FFT.

I spent like, 230 hours on FFX, which isn't that much compared to some of my other games(I won't bring up Disgaea). Anyway, 255 in all on most characters, all monsters in the arena unlocked, ultimate weapons, and whatever. I found Blitzball a GREAT time passer, and tons of fun. I used the Don Tonberry AP Trick to get all those stats, but whatever. I'm not going to get 99,999HP, because it's not needed with the defense. Same with 9,999MP and One MP Cost. Some 20 million gil. I certainly played this game a lot before, but it got boring.
--- Moogy, you only like FFT because you like Disgaea, Makai, etc. |
