Buying Songs and the "Secret Area"

What I don't understand is the Secret Area of files, is there any connection to the FFR shop or amount of credits you have to get to unlock these secret songs? Because I got the first three w/o even doing anything but playing.

It works two ways. Secret songs unlock by accumulating credits, but in the near future, credits can be exchanged for more songs in the shop.
