Default Practice one song until perfection, or many at once?

Hello. This is my first post in the FFR boards, but I've been playing FFR itself for about a year now. I guess I could be considered one step above TOTAL NOOBDOM. I can play "Burnout" with all perfects except for about 10 goods, and maybe an average once in a while. I've played "Breaking the Common" without missing a step. I guess I can play songs with a STEADY stream of steps allright, I'll get better with practice.

My problem is, is that I cannot play even the most basic song if it has many, for lack of a better term, "double-hits'. I can handle one or two spread out in a song, but once many of them get mixed in with single hits at once, chaos ensues.

I've been practicing all the songs at once, and I've only seen inprovement in songs like the above. I know practice is key, but I just can't seem to get these types of songs. (Maybe CIA Rave is an OK example.)

For one, is it possible to really master these types of songs one-handed? Two, is it better to practice one song at a time till I get it rights, or should I practice many songs in one sitting to improve? I'm frustrated, I can almost perfect NEO-Max... except for the parts where about 25 steps appear in about 1.3 seconds...

I play one handed as well and I can handle most of the songs you are talking about just fine. I got better by practicing. Simple as that. Don't keep playing one song over and over. It will make you grow bored quicker. Try a variety of things. If you can handle Breaking The Common, try moving on to X-Dreamer. Or something around that difficulty.

Try playin Beetoven Virus over and over again, I found that it up'd my speed a good deal ad I can handle many songs now that I couldn't before. This is just my opinion though.

Get Stepmania and practice on that. Much more better files that help with a variety of different styles of steps.

Also you mention having trouble with jumps (two arrows at once) and I found that 4F73R M3 really helped me with jumps.

You're having trouble with doubles. Therefore, you should play lots of songs with doubles in them so that you get the hang of them. That's how I get better - find elements of the game I suck at and play them until I am good at them.

Practicing is not the key. Perhaps you are making a commonly made mistake in the way your playing. Maybe if you keep practicing making that mistake, you will eventually develope a bad habbit.

I use one hand but i am not a super player
I can usually hit every step on euphoria and falling into you, but i have trouble getting more then 100 combo on beethoven virus. When i first started i was pretty bad so i just played Trip to the moon, after being able to get perfects on about 3/4ths of all the beats i moved onto another, harder song. So i perfected then one by one. So now i can Ok, I am now able to finish FF7 battle and it is difficult. SO i would just try to perfect the songs one by one.

I peronsally would find it very hard indeed to do many songs at once--heck, I'd have big problems doing even two.

Kidding, kidding...

I tried practicing one over and over (FF7) but I got bored of it, even though I think I got pretty good at it for a beginner. I prefer switching all over the place, nowadays...
