Default So you found FFR... (Senior Members ONLY)

Okay, before I explain what this thread is about, I'm going to make one thing very clear: IF YOU JOINED JANUARY 1ST 2004 OR LATER, DON'T POST. KTHX.

Now, with that out of the way, I'd like to know how you discovered FFR in the first place. I discovered it several months before my join date, from a local DDR forum. The heading read "Cool DDR Flash Game" or something like that. I was hooked instantly. The game was drastically different at the time, in its archaic beta stages. I remember the Break Down! secret stage (among others). I remember the "dot" life bar. I remember the quick scoll bar on the right side of the screen. I remember the old home screen music. Yeah. Good stuff.

So, what about you? Where'd you hear about it? Did you only know about the new R1, or did you know about the old one as well?

For me its weird. I had been down at my Aunt's house over the summer for a visit in NC watch G4TV (before it merged). I remember seeing someone play DDR on tv and I was like, "Cool, I wish I could do that." So later tat night I was on the PC at addictinggames.com and at the bottom of the screen was the name, FFR (Flash Flash Revolution). I was like well it could be like DDR and the rest is history.

Some kid was playing FFR in my CAD class one day. I saw it and I decided to try it since I'd wanted to try DDR (funny story: I joined FFR Dec 7, 2003 but I didn't get to try DDR until Dec 25, 20404). I played Mario many times until I FC'd it. Then I kept going. And kept going. I joined the forums the day after I signed up on the site. I've alwasy been a forum lurker, but I decided that I'd start posting regularly here and I did.

I came during the new R1. The only exposure I got to the original was the downloadable version. Synth should host the classic version for nostalgia.

I started playing DDR in January 03, FFR in February or so. Didn't post on the forums until September though. I remember stuff like PWNED! You know, stuff that didn't exist.

I was in Montreal getting drunk with a couple of friends and we went back to this guy's house named Johnny and he had found it (I don't know where) and he was playing it and passing Megaman.. (at the time I was having a "WTF" moment like you would an NVML file today) and that's how I got into FFR. Went back home the same weekend and started playing it.

EDIT: Oops. -Fallen-, you have not failed, but please point out that you didn't fail... if you had an older account.

FFR is my third forum(s?), but the only one I am active on now. My first was DDRFreak, second was the Chciago-local, now nonexistent (yet at one time very active) ddrdx.com (formerly ddrcrestwood.com).

Continue.

uh nforcer I doubt that fallen is about to get back on his robbyzero or blankzero account just to post in this thread

these were my second forums... although I never really started posting much til 04. First forum was warcarftiii.net... where I joined back when they only had like 600 members two years before the game came out.

Before I say anything my join date on my old account was October 31, 2003. Anyways, it was back in August 2003 when my friends kept talking about it, I had no idea what they meant by an arrow game because I had never played dance dance revolution or anything like that. But then a week later or so I went to this place called X-site and they had this ddr machine there so I played it with my brother and we sucked but I found it fun. I then came to flashflashrevolution and played a lot but never really got good so I quit around the beginning of November and didn't come back until around Janurary. Then I started to get good and kept playing and eventually took up stepmania during that time too.

tnyhwk900 showed me the game at his house, I played it then got hooked.

lets see I always played DDR at the arcades, then a friend of mine showed me SM but that was too involved for me at the time (course now its a breeze) Then once word got out that I was a DDR player, another friend of mine told me about this DDR site that used flash. So I got hooked... then quit for almost a year and then got back and thats when I first started posting in the forums. Course the only thing I remember about old school FFR was the lask of note skins back then, I remember coming back and seeing them and was amazed at this.

Hmmm (btw I joined in august 03) I was playing this game waay too long before I actually signed up and posted. Honestly though, I have no idea how I got into this game. It's been so long I have forgotten how I got into this game, but I think it was through a friend.
