A dog with a split personality

You know how in the movie Secret Window, Johnny Depp has a split personality, that he sees a man as an imagination (who is clearly himself)
that kills all his friends, and people that he knew, and then at the end it shows he kills his x wife.
He didn't know he was killing those people and stuff.
So it's a split personality.

Also the same thing with the Lord of the Rings character (Gollum) shows how he talks to his bad side kinda, and then there is his good side.
Thats another exaple of a split personality...

Other examples of multiple personality in movies is Spider-man(the Green Goblin/Norman Osbourne) and Fight Club (Edward Norton's character/ Brad Pitts character). Then, you have the classic comedy Me Myself & Irene (Charlie Baileygates/Hank Evans). Hilarious.

I feel that now would be an excellent time to explain the difference between schizophrenia and multiple personality. Schizophrenia is a form of psychosis, "a mental disorder characterized by derangement of personality and loss of contact with reality, causing deterioration of normal social functioning."* Mulitple Personality Disorder is quite different. Multiple Personality Disorder is defined as "hysterical neurosis in which the personality becomes dissociated into two or more distinct but complex and socially and behaviorally integrated parts each of which becomes dominant and controls behavior from time to time to the exclusion of the others."* As anyone with any basic understanding of the English language can see, MPD is totally different from schizophrenia. It is Hollywood's fault for making the average American believe that schizophrenia and MPD are one and the same.

The example that Tass said is an example of a psychosis. I've only ever seen parts of that movie though, so I really can't comment much on it.

Also, sorry for taking this sorta off topic here. I just thought I needed to tell everyone that.
