Skype - call others online for free!

This is a neat program that behaves just like an instant messaging client. If you have a microphone, you're set. This works a lot like a phone; when you call a person, they have the option to take your call or ignore it. 3-way calling is included, and you can put others on hold if you're talking to more than one person at once privately. Best of all, as the title says, it's completely free.

I understand this is not exactly new, but it would be cool to get a bunch of FFR members to sign up. Me, tank, and vash have already talked. Post your contact name when you get it!

Yeah, skype has been available for like...what 3 years I think? I am kind of surprised nobody has said anything about it on here until now.

For a FFR type setting, TeamSpeak might be better but whatever. Skype's quality is wow yeah really good.

Pronunciation - Say "type". Ok, now, take off that t and add a sk.

Yeah, I've been using skype here and there for a while. My username is chickensofdoom, but I don't generally just leave it open. I wish someone would write a Trillian mod for Skype or something =\.

Why not just use AIM's voice chat? Or Yahoo's voice chat? Or any IM service's voice chat?

Because all those voice chats suck and as far as I know you can only do one on one chats. With Skype you can do like...a lot of people at once. I recently did one with like 6 people.

I'll be on there. I'm Afrobean. Don't expect me to be available to talk much though. I don't want to seem like a weirdo to all the people in my family who are in the room with me.

Also, can you use this program like a phone and call people's houses? It looks like you can, but I'm not sure.
