Default Song of the week - Domani (FFR Edit)

Man, I love this song. Here we go:

Song Name: Domani (FFR Edit)
Song Author: DJplaeskool
Stepfile Artist: Alainbryden
Length: 2:34
Style: Break House
Difficulty: 9
FFR Section: Misc
Date Added: 6/25/2005
Song Artist Bio:
Michael Hamilton aka DJplaeskool has created a wide variety of very synthetic and organic sounds for over three years. His website djplaeskool.com contains many of his original works and remixes available for download, including a slightly longer version of Domani (it's not the FFR cut.) DJ Plaeskool is also an avid fan of BeatmaniaIIDX and other music games, making him all the better of an addition to this project!

k. First off, the stepfile was amazing. I loved it, this is probably going up as one of my fav stepfiles with neomax and ffr evolution. The song was sweet too. I love synths, and the beat was sick. But the one thing about the song that annoyed me was the singing in it. It really came out of no where, and didn't seem to fit into the song. Plus the singing was bad, and it was in the backround. A voice as a backround to the synths and beat? It was a bit weird. But other then that, a great addition to FFR! =)

Stepfile looks like it was made in 10mins and the song is pretty good.

Very disapointing considering how fun "Power Rangers" was.

I actually liked that. Kinda added a touch of intensity.

I like it when all the arrows are the same. For some strange reason, I find the different colors distracting.

I didn't like the stepfile, but I absolutely loved the song. It's be better with no background because it seems to get in the way more than look good.

Loved it! I'm pretty crap at FFR so this is about as good as I can do without just panicking and hitting all the keys

I really didn't like the stepfile, its very awkward/offsync at certain times. The only other thing I didn't like about this is that the backround made the arrows slightly hard to see.

Otherwise, the song is pretty decent.

Well I gave the stepfile another chance (meaning I tried it for the 2nd time and actually finished it this time) and the steps are still garbage but I managed 2 goods

Why is this in miscellanious? It should be in Dance, Secret, or Purchased. It has no distinct miscellanious quality in it.

This is 80 years away from Dance... the true genre isn't in FFR, and purchased and Secret have gotten their share of songs, so it was Misc's turn.

The fair fact of the matter is that songs on Dance Page 4 just don't get played very much. LD wrote a script to measure the total number of times a song has been played. Down at the bottom of the list are Secret songs, Purchased songs, and songs on Dance Page 4. Secret and purchased can't be played by newbies and Dance Page 4 just doesn't get exposure.

Case in point:
Get Down - Played 21942 times.
Delirium - Played 20229 times.

Get Down has been around for a couple months. Delirium has been around for a couple weeks, but we threw it at the top of the list because we wanted to be all HOLY CRAP LOOK AT OUR AWESOME ITG MUSIC. (This is a completely off-the-record comment, of course.) It paid off - Delirium has gotten played WAY more than a bunch of other songs.

So really, we'll look for excuses to put a song in anything but Dance. I've never been a fan of that genre name anyway. Afrikaa Bambaata once said "All music is dance music," and I tend to agree with him.

Another point:
Domani - Played 4165 times.
Song For The Nihonjins - Played 4145 times.
Rondo Alla Turca V2 - Played 4081 times.
Noir Remixed - Played 2946 times.

Domani has been in the game for 3 days and already surpassed songs in the secret/purchased section.

Not bad. The stepfile was pretty good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the song.

It's not dance. Break House, however, is dance. This is not break house. This is a poorly written gesture towards an abstract form of triphop with offkey vocals. =(

You can't simply compare Get Down with Delirium--it gives a skewed view. First of all, because Delirium is newer, of course people are going to play it more. The longer a song has been out, the less it will be played. I don't see what's out of place. Also, maybe people just prefer Delirium over Get down or whatever is on the fourth page (I, myself, find it considerably better).

Comparing Domani to purchased/secret songs is also ridiculous. Not only is Domani a new song, but it also doesn't require credits to play it. Of course it will be played more often.

If you are still utterly convinced that songs on page four get played less, you can always enable the up arrow on pg. 1 to go directly to 4.
