Pretty funny. I like how at the end he said "thank you" ,after he gets totally ownd, while the other guy is like "you've wasted our time"

Wow, that was amazing.

Sean Hannity is a great guy (or, as callers say on his radio show, "a great American"). I went out to see him once at a political rally and he's an amazingly good speaker. And here he just completely owns that guy. Great debater.

I'd be laughing too hard to be a part of that.

Utter owning aside, Hannity needs to learn that he's a TV journalist, and thus needs to take an objective stance on a nationally televised program. He can say whatever he wants to the guy off camera, but that was completely unprofessional, especially since the guy didn't even have to agree to the interview in the first place.

For the record, I stopped the video about a quarter of the way through.

While I agree with Kilga on some level, I think it's great that people stand up for the rights and liberties we take for granted. I think it would have been better to hear more of this guy's stance before Hannity started talking. It would have been more affective, and he wouldn't had to have called him names.

But all rules of journalism aside, everyone has to agree with how awesome it was. Imagine if you're a parent or a spouse with someone in Iraq, and you saw this broadcast. You'd love Hannity. Imagine running into that other guy on the street. I think anyone who has a loved one in the military would beat the living shit out of this guy. I could see a 90-year-old vet punching the crap out of him.

The 2nd half was the best part, Kilga. Another guy comes in and says things that are a lot more reasonable. The first guy was just name-calling and spouting stuff that wasn't....entirely....true. The whole "They are giving you the right to free speech" didn't really have any place. If there were people attacking us at home trying to overthrow our government and take that right away, and the military was stopping them, then they'd be actively protecting that right. As of right now....not so much.

The second guy had a much better arguement and was much more professional about it.

Bullshit. Sean Hannity is a horrible debater and this video showed a big portion of my reasoning. A good speaker? Yeah, I'll give you that. He can pump up his side with a whisk of his hand. He came to my school and I got to hear some of his show. But put him in front of a liberal and the "debate" is entirely one-sided. Unless his questions are not answered directly (and the questions are phrased such that a direct answer will only support his side) he immediately interrupts and paints his opponent as a question-dodging idiot. I really doubt that that Crook guy had a decent argument with the pay structure business, but sometimes I (regrettingly) listen to Sean Hannity's radio show and I know that some of his guests have perfectly rational arguments that can be debated, but Sean NEVER lets them get it out.

Bottom line: I hate Sean Hannity. I think he has his views in the right place, but as a talk show host he flat-out sucks.

And, for obvious reasons, I don't like Alan Colmes, but he was great in that video. Quite hilarious.

No, he's not. Hannity is not a journalist, he is a panelist on a debate show. He is paid to give his opinion, not to simply retell the news stories of the day. Same deal with Colmes.

You have to be willing to recognize and accept the flaws in your argument and viewpoints. If you're dodging questions to avoid addressing issues, your viewpoint has serious holes. To be a skilled debater, you need to know answers to common questions. Find the thread on abortion from a year or so ago - there's not a single question I don't address.

True, but that's not what Hannity does. Not every viewpoint can be addressed directly, though. With several interviews I've heard between Hannity and other important people I found myself screaming at the radio because Sean wouldn't EVER let the other person explain their point. I never once heard a defense from the other side because Sean wouldn't let them talk. He interrupts people like none other. Sean doesn't exploit holes in his opponents' viewpoints because the opponents can't even get to a point to exploit!

Ugh, he makes me so angry.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright. And I write the blog for their website. Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O
