Allright, so I bought the PS2 to USB converter and now can use my dance pad for stepmania. The only problem is that my computer interprets the Dance pad as being a joystick. This means that I cannot do Left and Right at the same time, or Up and Down at the same time.
This is a giant problem and I baisically can't play as long as it's like this. I don't want to turn the pad diagonally and use the buttons, because then the jump spread is too wide. If someone can help me out by showing me how to make a macro or some other way to change the way my computer responds to the dance pad, I would appreciate it. |

The matter of fact is that the pad IS a joystick.
Go with a metal pad, or take the inner buttons from a metal pad, wire them to your pad, then wah-la. Just go and buy a metal one. Other than that, there's not much of a way you can fix it. |

I use a mat and it lets me do the jumps just fine, its NOT a metal mat.

no Mindfields there is a way. The pad can send out a signal for both up and down arrows at once, so the computer should be able to read it. The pad isn't a joystick, because if it were it wouldn't work for the PS2 DDR game. Again, does anyone know how to construct a macro? or DDRplyer, how is your configured?

dude, the code, obviously.
hold down up, start, and select (simultaneously) for three seconds before booting up stepmania. go into options, reconfig your settings, it should work fine. btw the problem is not in your computer, it's in the adapter. this changes the adapter from like regular mode to usb mode or something. |
