Saw it a few hours ago. It certainly looks very professional, but I heard the NRevolution was to be the size of 3 DVD cases stacked on top of each other.

Maybe this is a different addon?

Penn & Teller should have seen this, because this is BULLSHIT! Look at all of the peaches castles. You can see the JPG/JPEG after imaging. Its very professionally done, but a system that reads your mind? I dont think so. Make your own games? That drains the fun out of it... besides, cheaters would love it. *me* I HIGHLY encourage this this is a load of bullpies. Think what you want, but Im a devoted Nintendo fan.

It's obviously fake, even though it's very well done.

Yeah, I don't think Nintendo is going to be that revolutionary. And besides, the design looks kind of whack. Perhaps it was a video made by Nintendo to pitch this idea because it was very professional.

But that opening scene of Mario 64...when it just kept panning out futher and futher I was totally thinking "hey, what the hell." Very Cool.

This would like cost a fortune if it was real. Still, the video and idea is fuckin' awesome.

I love how none of you idiots stopped to consider the fact that not only is motion sensing technology that advanced WAY OUT OF OUR LEAGUE, it's also thousands of dollars. Also, how would it transform your HOUSE into the game world? What about platformers? What about destructable environments?

Furthermore, the so called "30 second load times" feature is similarily bullshit. Yeah, we're going to put a HDD into the system with a GIGANTIC BUFFER and some SUPER REVOLUTIONARY CD-RIPPING FIRM/hardWARE THAT CAN RIP A DVD IN 30 SECONDS LOL.

Clearly, clearly fake. Although the castle scene in the beginning was cool, I'll admit.

Well, I just thought I'd respond to some of your post. Motion sensing technology is not that far out of our league. People fail to realize the power of mass production. Also, there are some fairly simple Augmented Reality games (which is what Nintendo would utilize, if it went this path)...and basically all it takes is a camera. I've seen some really cool videos on it, and it really makes it seem like it's not that far off in the future. All they do it pan a camera for about 15 seconds around a real world environment, and then they can place computer generated ("destructible") items wherever they want.

No, I don't think it will be true, but I also don't believe that it isn't possible. The main reason I believe it isn't true is b/c it'd be too complicated for Nintendo, who likes to focus on more simple, family friends games.

ANTICROMBIE: you're an idiot, and not very free-thinking. If it did indeed use augmented reality (as shown in the video a few months ago), it wouldn't have to use YOUR HOUSE (indeed it could, if the camera/software was packaged with every console, which is HIGHLY UNLIKELY), but they could just as easily record other real world environments (like an abandoned warehouse), and stream that information into a game. Basically they could have all environments be photo-realistic with CG destructible items inserted wherever they want, very easily. It always made me mad when people couldn't see how that augmented reality video could be used outside of "OMG LINK COULD RUN AROUND MY ROOM!!?!!??!"

EDIT: I thought I'd add that it was indeed an incredible video. EXTREMELY well done. The only point which I said "this video is obviously fake" was the very end, when he tried modeling mario/peach's caslte by himself. It just didn't look that good, and it obviously wasn't right.

Say you were playing Metroid prime and you were facing a gigantic metroid...then you ran into a wall. Try controlling morph ball mode like that. Uber Kudos to whoever made it, if I hadn't already read the articles on the Revolution...I'd think this thing was the real deal. Also Anti is totally right on that 30 seconds bull shit. You'd need something a lot bigger than the revolution shown in that video....A LOT bigger.

lol. I just don't think you guys realize how common place augmented reality is becoming. No, I don't think Nintendo will incorporate it...but I mean you can get augmented reality games on a PDA.

Oh, and anti, I know a fair share about technology...perhaps not as much on marketing. Notice that my main reason for going against you was not to say that it'd be possible for this to be Nintendo's next console, but to show you the many other uses that it could have, which you didn't seem to have thought of.

P.S.: does anyone know what song that is in the beginning? Because I really like it.

It is called total immersion, which people have been pioneering for a while.

well, i call it augmented reality. But i've heard both, and i think they refer to 2 different things...don't feel like figuring it out right now though.
