Whats the best way to put your fingers?

Hi, I have been playing for a couple months now and I was wondering whats everyones say on how to put your fingers.

There are a lot of different styles. Some use one hand, other people use two. But here's the fingering system I use:

Left middle on Left
Left index on Down
Right index on Up
Right middle on Right

I don't think very many people use the arrow keys like I do, though, unless they're playing on a laptop.

One hand, and here's how I hit things:

Index finger on left, third finger on top and bottom, ring finger on right. On the up-down jumps, I hit top with middle and bottom with index. All other jumps are just common sense.

I'm the same as Magniris except for the up-down ones I just use my middle finger and hit both at the same time. My middle fingers fits between the left and right keys so I just hit it down. o.o

heres how i do my fingering. Well i dont really use my fingers but oh well

right butt cheek on right left butt cheek on left right foot on up left foot on down

i play like igotrhythm.. and most other people.. its the easiest way.

This is currently the best way to play for me. Although if i want to get better i guess i should play with 2 hands or something else.

I'm also learning how to play with two hands. I'm teaching myself indexing right now, and in a couple weeks I'm going to start trying igotrhythm's style.

Left Index on Left

That's my 4 finger style. I also use my two middle fingers for indexes.

I just use simply 2 index fingers.
And i have to say it works quite well, because i consider myself a descent player, though many are far better than i am.

I do the same as both igotrhythm's and Foxxer's. I've been learning 2 hands for a couple weeks now, and it's so much easier than one hand!

Hey, if you're left-handed like me, and having a hard time with this, try reversing the up/down fingers, so that your left is "dominant"

(Yes I realize that only 10% of the world is left-handed, but hey! And two-handed play will be crutial in the long run, so once in a while, give it a shot!)

I find using both hands a little confusing.. I can't get my coordination right, prolly b/c i'm used to doing it with one hand.. is it really easier using both??

It takes a few weeks of getting used to... Lol, the first couple weeks, I felt the same way you do, but, now, I'm finding streams a lot easier, I'm getting higher combo's in the harder songs, and ya. I still have some trouble with the jumps, but, hey, that's what practice is for.

i cant learn two hands no matter how much i try im really good with one hand i cant figure out two handed though

I used two-hand since I started. It's alot easier to use than one hand (believe me I tried) but I could do both. Usually I use one hand on easy songs and two on hard ones or if I have the energy to use them any other time.
I don't see how you people can't use 2 hands!

You do tend to get confused though with really super fast songs.
