Default Help please with changing arrow registering

Hello again all, i've been playing Stepmania for a while now, and need some help. I love how on flash flash revolution that when you press the arrow, the explosion size is big and a line goes across the screen. When i play Stepmania, I have a hard time telling if I hit the arrow correctly. I just don't FEEL like im playing at all and wish to make the explosion size bigger. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

Well by default it only does the explosion after an 100 combo (greats and above). This is DDR-style. I actually prefer this as you can tell if you've lost a combo (although a version that only recognised perfects and above would be neat).

There are two ways to solve your problem - either pay attention to the arrow flash when you press it (white for marv, yellow for perf, green for great, and no flash for anything less) or combo 100 more often and you'll get the explosions

...or get the flashflashrevolution skin. Search for it.
