Izzy is a creature called a Whatizit, and is a citizen of the Olympic Torch
He can transform himself into any object he wants to -- it is quite possible that your keyboard or mouse is really Izzy. They even let kids vote on the name, although in reality the kids voted to call him "Kirby." That name was already trademarked by Nintendo, so they went with "Izzy".
