Moved.
What do you want out of the game system? Do you want to play RPGs? Multiplayer? Online playing? Racing games? FPSs? etc. I own a PS2 and I'm happy with it. Though I wouldnt say it is the best...but really, I dont think there is a "best" system, they each have their weaknesses. |

A Dreamcast, obviously.
Oh wait, you mean a system you can buy by just going to any random store. A Gamecube for sure

Uhh, I'll correct some of my predecessors.
Large library of unique games - PS2. Decent library of amazing games - Gamecube. Graphics - Gamecube. Controller - Gamecube. No load times - Gamecube. Halo - Xbox. That sums it up nicely. For anybody who thinks the graphics are the best on the Xbox, please re-look over the statistics of the systems. A better graphics card does not always mean better graphics. I've seen several games where textures fail to load properly and other games that actually freeze. Basically, when I was making the same decision 3 years ago, I had to decide between Super Smash Brothers Melee or Halo. Obviously, since no good game has ever come out for the Xbox, I'm glad I chose to go with the Gamecube. ~Squeek |

Personally, I like the PS2 controller the most...I find the Gamecube control goofy...yet it works.
PS2: Large library of games, plus backwards compatiblity. GC: Good graphics, party console. XBOX: It has a Harddrive...and it is heavy...so it could probably double as a mini-gym once you are bored with Halo. |

How much cash do you have? if it's exactly 150 or less then get the cube. You can get the console, and extra controller, super smash bros., and a mem card for about 150. 150 will be just enough to get you an x-box, ps2, or DS. And if you ant halo that badly, get it for the pc or wait for halo 2 to come out on the pc if you want halo 2.

For myself, the gamecube would suck. I feel those are all kiddy games (AKA Mario Party) that actually have good multiplayer value. Now, with X-Box, you can get Live, which I play with thousands of people in Halo 2. Thats some true multiplayer action ![]()

How is mine biased? What OTHER games have come out for Xbox? Fable? HA! I laugh at you. Halo? Halo 2? While I think they suck, some people think differently and think they rule. In either event, there aren't any other good titles.
PS2 was perfect. That is exactly what PS2 is. It has a huge selection of a wide variety of games. Gamecube was perfect. That is exactly what a gamecube is. While it has less titles than a PS2, a VAST majority of them are amazing games, while you can go to the PS2 section of your electronics store and notice that half of them are crap. The graphic capabilites have been proven to be the best on a Gamecube. I personally dislike the notion that Gamecube is only good for non-networked multiplayer games because, fact is, most games are extremely fun in single player as well. In fact, ALL of my games (with the exception of Crystal Chronicles) are as fun or more fun than playing multiplayer. There was one thing I forgot to mention. The console that networked multiplayer is best for. Sorry about that, PC. I won't forget you again. LD - Say Gamecube is only kiddy games one more time and I'll somehow do something to you. ~Squeek |

...No contest huh. Fucking fan based opinions...Oh I have refused to answer the poll just because there are so many qualities each one specializes in. If you want a true opinion..Get a guy who was locked up with each system seperatly for about 20 days.
