Once again, I begin with Anime News Network 's synopsis of the series.

"Tokiha Mai and her sickly younger brother, Takumi, have received a scholarship to attend the prestigious Fuuka Academy. On the way, the ferry they are travelling on becomes the site of a destructive battle between two girls wielding apparently supernatural powers. This is only the beginning of their troubles, as Mai learns that she herself possesses these powers - the powers of a HiME."

Kefit and I both agree - this series is t3h w1n. It combines an amazing plot with comedy and vibrantly colorful action scenes. Lately, every episode has been leaving the viewer wanting more and more. Things are revealed to the viewers in small pieces at a time to allow them to figure things out for themselves.

The first few episodes are purely dedicated to allowing the viewers time to understand the world and situation the characters are in. Speaking of the characters, this is the time they take to explain the role each character has. When I say "each", I mean all 30-40 characters. They do not limit themselves to one, two, or even a dozen main characters. Though the story focuses around Mai and her brother, there are many times when the focus moves elsewhere to let the viewers know even more about the world.

An amazing series with no flaws that I've seen yet. They took their time getting it underway, but once they did, it ruled. 9/10 so far, with 11 episodes left in the series (assuming it ends at 26).

Yeah, been keeping track of this one. Absolutely amazing series, can't wait until the plot starts developing (I'm on episode 9, I believe). Mikoto is awesome XD

Episode 15 is subbed now.

And it is absolutely positively amazing. Easily the best episode in the series so far, which is saying a lot. This show will become one of my favorites of all time if it keeps this up. I just hope it doesn't fall into the trap I have seen other anime succumb to, where the sub-climax is vastly superior to the climax (see: Kiddy Grade and R.O.D. the TV).

Just watched 15, and all I have to say is holy. crap. That episode kicked me in the nuts and devoured my face. :<

But it was also friggin' awesome.

Bump for insanely awesome.

Mai-HiME 17 and 18 came out finally. They rocked my socks off so thoroughly. INSANELY THOROUGHLY.

I mean, those socks were so far across the room by the time the episode was over that I was just blown away by the lack of proximity of those socks to my person.

No seriously, after watching 17 & 18 that's all I can say. This series is amazing me more episode by episode, and it's going to explode into full-blown hardcoreness in the next few episodes, judging from what happened.

Static released episodes 19-21 tonight.

Episodes 19 and 21 are both a bit muddled, as the series is beginning to struggle with its abundance of characters and plot threads, but episode 20 is one of the most amazing episodes of anime I have ever seen.

Anyone who hasn't started watching this series yet: you are missing out on one of the greatest shows to ever come out of Japan. Watch this. NOW. You won't regret it.

It's not that big of deal. I mean, episodes 19 and 21 are good, but nothing that you need right this very second.

Of course, episode 20 is the best episode in the entire series thus far. Hell, it's the best episode of anime that I have ever seen. I do believe that it will rip off your head and use your body to block bullets, Elfen Lied style.
