Radeon video card problem

I recently got a new radeon 9600xt for christmas, and when I tried to play stepmania after installing it...it crashed. I keep getting an odd error message and when I view the crash dumps and logs it seems that the game is trying to load display drivers for a rage type card even though mine's a radeon and the game shows my current video card as such.

This only happens in the latests versions of stepmania though. Stepmania 3.0 final works just fine but anything above this crashes and gives the same error message.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. thank you
