Default FFR Hall of Fame - Class of 2025

First, and foremost, thank you everyone who submitted nominations, and votes for this year's class.
I can say every year that the Hall of Fame classes are well worthy of their induction, and this year is no different as we welcome 5 more members into the Hall. All of these users are members who've left their marks on FFR in many ways, but - arguably the most importantly - over a long-lasting time. Each user here has been around for longer than some people on the site have been alive (which is bonkers, but I digress), and I'm so pleased to be able to run this for y'all and to showcase those who make the site, and game, what it is.
So, without further ado.

Your first inductee into the FFR Hall of Fame - Class of 2025 is...

JIMERAX

Jimerax could arguably best be described as one of the first FFR Game Managers before the title was ever created.

Holding the positions of Simfile Judge, and later Global Moderator, and even Administrator, he also headed the Judge team for a period in the early-2010s, and was responsible for a lot of changes seen in that time period.

On top of these, jimerax was a prolific simfile author with over 60 simfiles in game, over an 8 year span from 2006-2014 - but, arguably the most important thing jimerax contributed: a lot of the Japanese artist permissions FFR obtained in the mid-aughts were thanks to jimerax. FFR's musical culture has jimerax's fingerprints all over it, and because of those contributions, we honor jimerax with a place in the FFR Hall of Fame!

Next, your second inductee is...

SKY KITTEN

A trailblazer in many ways, Sky Kitten has been a constant presence on FFR since her debut in 2008, and with her perennial positive attitude and vibe, she joined staff in 2012 starting as a Profile Mod, before becoming Global Moderator, and even becoming Administrator for a spell in the mid-2010's - only the 2nd woman to hold that title in the history of FFR.

To this day, she still is around being an original Community Manager - selected for her easygoing demeanor, yet professional attitude - and has contributed so much in terms of time and effort in the goings-on behind the scenes.

Even as an FFR player, she achieved respectable scores - 1200 AAAs, including a handful of Master AAAs - and was one of the top female players at the time of her peak.

Because of all of this, we are beyond thrilled to give Sky Kitten another milestone as she becomes the first woman inducted into the FFR Hall of Fame!

Third, and arguably a long time coming.. your next inductee is...

TASSELFOOT

One of the founding and foundational staff members of FFR, Tasselfoot served as the full-time Community and Game Manager from 2006 to 2009, arguably the primary 'golden age' of FFR.

He helped usher in the era of widgets, when up and coming bands were using FFR as one of their primary means of advertising their music to the internet. He was instrumental in the daily operations of the site and community, merch design and manufacture, as well as business and financial dealings with some of the biggest companies in the music industry.

An incredibly active staff member in the community, he still stands atop an insurmountable peak of over 25,000 forum posts, a full 10,000 above the next highest user who is still active. While working full time on the site he still found the time to run and participate in many community events, including several dozen of the early Werewolf Games, something FFR has come to be known for in the Werewolf/Mafia community as much as we're known in the rhythm game community.

While he has been gone from an active role in the community for over 15 years, his influences, work and effort remain a testament to his dedication during those years to the success and growth of FFR as a community, and as a company. It may be a long time coming, but we are honored to induct Tasselfoot into the FFR Hall of Fame!

(thank you to Devonin for the write-up!)

The last of our Contributor nominees to be inducted this year, but certainly not the least...

XJ-9

To cover the history of XJ-9, you have to go back almost 20 years, and a whole different username. Then, under the name of HammyMcSquirrel, he was well known amongst the community as a solid player, as well as frequently recognized for his friendly demeanor being voted Runner-Up for Friendliest Poster in 2008, and winning the award in 2010.

Soon after, Hammy was invited to a part of the Moderation team being a Global Moderator, and running the Forum Awards in the early 2010's. By 2014, though, Hammy handed in his title, and took a hiatus from the game and the website.

6 years later, enter XJ-9. Re-armed under a new username, and with a lot of the old guard no longer around, XJ-9 began a rebirth of sorts. Culminating in becoming a high tier player - including topping over 2750 AAAs, and reaching top 20 in average rank - XJ also worked with the administration team in ushering a new era of FFR. As the inagural Community Manager, he was instrumental in separating the processes of Community Managers from Game Managers, all via his calm, friendly demeanor that earned him the respect of the community 20 years ago.

Whether you knew him as HammyMcSquirrel, or know him now as XJ-9, we honor him with an induction into the FFR Hall of Fame!

And finally. While falling under the technical threshold for votes, when the Hall was revamped, it was included that at least one Player would be enshrined every year. So, our fifth and final inductee is...

SMARTDUDE1212

A long-time staple of the FFR community, his highlights over a long period of time start from 2007 when he became the first person to ever AAA AIM Anthem (during the av-miss period, no less), and was a one-time rank 1 in FFR Grandtotal, as well as scoring a top 3 finish in D7 in the 11th official FFR tournament, plus constantly being near the top of several leaderboards in the mid-2010s.

A perennial sight near the top in total AAAs, and average rank, smartdude was good at practically every aspect of the game - and those skills have translated into other rhythm games as well, as he's considered the top Pump It Up player in Canada, and one of the top Canadian Chunithm players as well.

However, those skills all had to originate from somewhere, and FFR was that point. Today, we honor smartdude1212 and his legacy on this game - and how it's evolved into other games - with a place within the FFR Hall of Fame!

Congratulations again to our inductees, and we'll see you again next year for the next wave of users to be enshrined.
Post your well wishes, discussions, etc.
