Welcome to the Blazing 8's Blast-Off Tournament!

That's right, the Discord Activity game we've been playing after all the Monthly Token Trivia gameshows is getting competitive! Get your hand swap cards and all the devious tactics ready for this fun little tournament hosted in the Official FFR Discord Server!

How to sign up:

Use the Google Form here to sign up for the tournament.

In order to be eligible for participation, you need to be part of the FlashFlash Revolution Discord server and have your FFR account linked in the server. You need to provide your FFR username, Discord username and the timezone you live in, to make scheduling matches easier.

Signups are open until March 22nd 11.59 PM Server Time!

How it works:

After the sign-up period, players are divided into groups of (4-5) and face off against each other in a game of Blazing 8's. Each game has 10 rounds, and the winner of the round earns one point to themselves. At the end of each game, the two players with the highest points move on to the next game and the rest get eliminated from the tournament. This format is repeated until the Grand Finals where only 2 players remain to battle for the victory!

The games will be played in a private voice channel in the Official FFR Discord Server and hosted by a member of the Events Team. It is up to the groups themselves to schedule a suitable time to play their game. There will be a thread in the #events channel of the Discord Server to plan, announce and help with scheduling. To make handing out the bonus prizes (listed below) easier, each game will be recorded. The recordings are only for tracking down these stats and will not be publicly shared anywhere, except for the final rounds which will be streamed to the OfficialFFR Twitch channel!

Rules:

– Don't use alt accounts to participate.
– No teaming with others players, including

- Sharing hands
- Talking about strategies outside of the voice channel with another player
- Anything that helps to give an unfair advantage to you or someone else
- Tactics and strategies are allowed, when they stay fair and don’t break any rules above. If you feel like it does, then don't do it.

– Be respectful to other players and the hosts
– The Discord Server's rules apply to this tournament, so please follow them as well.

Breaking any of these rules continuously will result in disqualification from the tournament.

Prizes:

1st Place: 150k Credits and 2 Event tokens
2nd Place: 100k Credits and 1 Event token
3rd Place: 75k Credits and 1 Event token
Participation Prize: 5k Credits

We also offer bonus prizes to players/groups who manage to achieve these titles to themselves:

– Most Hand Swaps in a game
– Largest Handsize during a winning round
– Least Cards Drawn during a winning round
– Most Skipped Turns during a winning round
– The Blazing 8's AAA (3 aces played in a row)
– The Blazing 8's AAAA :O (4 aces played in a row?!)

Each bonus prize is worth 10k credits!

I would like to clarify that this event doesnt involve smashing arrows in any way.

Its a tournament for a discord game called Blazing 8's (similar to crazy 8s / uno), which we play in the FFR discord server from time to time
