This guy is playing V on IIDX. The flashing greats (pink greats) are about the equivelant to somewhere between judge 5 and judge 6 marvelouses. I can barely A that song two handed, he AAA's it =\ You can see what patterns he's hitting just by looking at the green/blue bars when he hits notes on the screen, or the flashes when he hits the keys. |

Seen before, awesome video. Lisu is amazingly good with one hand.
Oh, just thought I might point this part out in the video. Total Notes: 1272. FYI, that's a noticeably large amount of notes to be doing with only one hand (with the exception of a few scratches).

i can AAA V with a slightly worse score with one hand (iidx). V isn't that difficult... Most SM difficult one handed songs are alot faster... V on iidx isn't even that fast AT ALL.... it's MAYBE a little harder than bmr's V but definitely easier than even A speedwise. The only difficult thing is that it is 7 keys.

I already know what vid you're talking about, and yeah, it's pretty amazing. The one combo that I could probably never get is the one where it goes the two middle bottoms, and then the two outside bottoms.

I have no clue how difficult this is compared to what I can do in SM. I don't know how much having seven keys changes things, or how much the way they are layed out changes things, as I have never played IIDX.
So I don't know if this is impressive or not. As Nima said, its not even that fast. It certainly doesn't look all that impressive, at least compared to some of the things I can do in SM. But now that I have some clue of what IIDX is, I really want to find a machine near me and start playing it. |

He is really good at iidx 1 handed. probably the best in the world (correct me if im wrong)
but i am really good at sm 1 handed. i would wreck lisu like a noob on any stepfile. The games can't even be compared. The learning curves are totally different, play style is different, which is because there is 7 keys and you have to use a completely different style for both games. Saying something like 'lisu could aaa snow 1 hand no problem oloz' is just bullshit. Though I still respect the technique required for iidx, he would fail snow.

Snow is hard one-handed regardless, Reach.
I've been playing one-handed SM lately, and it's difficult ;_; How you guys have such strength in one arm is amazing, haha. I have a hard time keeping it through most of the 11 footers (Reach's sims). But, IIDX is completely different. How can you compare 7 much larger keys layed out, to 4 arrow keys or even 4 keyboard keys? You just can't. You have to hit patterns much different between the two games, and as Reach said, the learning curve is much different. It's really stupid to consider a comparison between the two games, even if they are both similar in the fact it's key-tapping and they are Bemani.

By the way Reach, do you use both arms for one hand, or is it one arm that is really really powerful and the other arm which is a twig compared to your other arm.

just 1 arm
i can't play left handed at all the funny thing is my right forearm really is almost an inch bigger around the base. lmao. you can't really tell though thankfully. except my right arm has alot of bulging muscles going down the top of my arm and my left has much smaller versions. Edit: i just measured them and my right forearm is like 13.5 and my left is like 12.2. WTF XD...oh well, most peoples good arm is a bit bigger. but thats weird.

c'mon reach... you know its mostly from choking your chain. :-d
but, i know what you mean... i've bowled religiously for about 12 years now, and throwing a big weight repeatedly week in and week out for years and years will lengthen your arm... my entire left arm is about 50% bigger than my right, and close to an inch longer.

He was fast, but not so fast that's like jaw dropping. I'm confident that if I played that game instead if FFR/SM, I'd be about that good.
Also, Reach, I feel your pain. Ever since I've gotten into 16th runs, my forearm has grown a bulgy muscle on the side of it. It's things like this that make me wish I played two-handed.
