Screw Frances (the hurricane that is)

my power was knocked out for 2 days straight my cable for 3...
school was cancelled for 3 days now they are gonna add 10 minutes to every school day for the rest of the year.
i got a big ass mess to clean up outside and trees to cut up...
all because of Frances -_-
it sucks to be me...

Um, thats not nearly as bad as the one we had in Washington last year. Power was out for about a week and our cable was out for over 2 weeks. ugh. so isolated.

Yea...heh, I know how you feel.

Juan took out the power at my house for over 5 days last year. Not to mention the tree in our backyard had MASSIVE roots, so when it fell (er flew) it ripped up alot of the yard. Someone else tree from 2 houses down landed in our yard too! yay!

And yea...we also got that snowstorm which dumped 100 cm of snow on us in only a few hours...canceled school for a week too, shut down the city completely for 2 days. THANKFULLY i had power the whole time ;D

After that they were gay as hell about missing all the school time, and they took away all our inservices

i forgot about Ivan -_- and Charley was here last week
and now that i think about it... this power outage wasnt as bad as New Yorks the summer before last
no power for 2 days in a city that relies on Electricity for everything...
and i was in manhattan when it happened -_-
and Reach u make my hurricane sound like tiny thunderstorm

reach snowstorm... did it occur in 1996 or 1997? if so i endured that storm but it wasnt as bad for me

No. Juan was a category 2 hurricane. It wasn't a wind storm when it hit us o_O Dunno if it hit washinton and gained strength or what. It did the damage of a 3 EASILY though. Why? Because our dumbass people working for the weather here figured it would lose its power when coming up the atlantic (which it usually does)...but of course, it didn't happen. About 6 hours before the hurricane we got a warning. Hahaha.

I was scared shitless around 10 that night. I didn't know it was gonna be as strong as it was...cause there was no hype...noone thought it was going to come in so strong, but the eye practically came directly over halifax harbor (where i live)

So we got smashed. Absolutely smashed. Downtown got totalled...windows in buildings gone left right and center. National parks...destroyed. Historic sites destroyed. Trees down all over the streets. Roofs gone off buildings...trees fallen into peoples houses...trees fallen on peoples cars ect. A total mess for over a week...and months and months of repairation for some places.


djsmalls, no, it was last year. It only hit nova scotia. It was one of the most powerful blizzards...ever. I went to bed at 2 (cause i knew they were going to cancel school) and they were calling for 50 cm...i could see it starting. I woke up at 6 to see if it really happened...when I looked out I couldn't see anything, nor could I get the door open. I went to look out the window on the bottom floor (4-5 feet up) and the snow was up to there. I couldn't believe my eyes...it feel so fast.

i live in southeast alabama so i got hit by frances too but last i heard u might be safe from ivan if ur on the east coast of florida because its supposed to go into the gulf then it will com straight for me
